Teaching Step

ⅠWarm –up

1 Greet the students and sing a song.

2 Show PPT, get the students to tell the function rooms according to the pictures, write the words on the board.

ⅡPresentation Reading time

1 Show the four pictures of Mr. Hippo, Zip ,Zoom, rabbit, monkey,

and tell the students the four friends of Mr. Hippo’s will visit his school .Mr. Hippo is very happy to introduce his school to them. 2 Show the first scene and guide the students to know what Mr. Hippo says.

3 Go on to introduce the next scenes, and have the students guess the meaning of the new words .

Focus on the sentences, This/That is … Is this /that…?

Where is the …? It’s on the first /second floor. 4Role play the story with the masks the students made.

ⅢGame---Having a bet

Divide the students into two groups—boys and girls, show a picture of a school, Teacher describes the function room ,choose a boy and a girl to point to the right place, seeing who is quicker. Finally , the students judge which group is better.
