ⅠTeaching aims:

1.Students will be able to know, read and spell the words about three meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner and numbers: eleven, twelve and so on.

2.Students will be able to know, understand and use these sentences to consult time: What time is it? / It’s… o’clock. / It’s time for… / Hurry up!

3.Students will be able to read and understand the story emotionally and correctly, and they can retell the story accurately with the help of the teacher.

4.Students will be able to talk about time exactly and confidently in daily life.

5.Students will be able to know the importance of time and learn to cherish time in life.

Step 1 Warm up

The teacher guides the students to look at the pictures and speak the numbers on the blackboard accurately and loudly.

Step 2 Pre-reading

1.Let’s count

T: Boys and girls, let’s look at picture1, how many rubbers?

Ss: Seven.

T: Good! How about picture2?

Ss: Four.

T: Great! Then let’s think, how many rubbers in total? There are eleven rubbers in total. (Teach eleven)

T: Boys and girls, let’s look at this picture, how many balloons on the left? Good, seven balloons. How many balloons on the right? Yes, five. Now, let’s think, how many balloons in total? There are twelve balloons. (Teach twelve) T: O K, class! Let’s count from one to twelve.

Ss: One, two, three…eleven, twelve.

The teacher guides the students to practice with their partners by following “What time is it? It’s…o’clock.”

Step 3 While-reading

1.Watch and circle

T: Boys and girls, this is Liu Tao’s day. Let’s watch the video first and try to circle the time that is mentioned in this story. (Play the video)

2.Read and match

3.Reading time

Students are guided to read the story time by listening to the tape. The teacher asks them to pay attention to intonation, pronunciation, mood and reading marks. In this step, wake up and hurry up are taught by gesture.

4.Try to retell

The teacher shows Liu Tao’s timetable to the students and helps them to retell the

story according to this timetable. The teacher should give stars to each volunteer to arise their interest and creativity.

5.L et’s act

In this step, students are required to choose one picture to act out. Pronunciation, intonation, mood and gestures will be noticed and considered.

Step 4 Post-reading

1.Try to make

In this step, students are asked to make a timetable by themselves. They can make their own timetable by following Liu Tao’s.

2.Show time

In this step, students are invited to show their timetables to us. At the same time, the teacher can give each volunteer a gift and give them some evaluation.

Step 5 Consolidation

Boys and girls, we can know that time is of great significance to us. Time is money. Each of us should cherish time. A good timetable can help us stay healthy and ensure us a bright future!
