Step2.Show time

Ask a student to have a try. She may say, “Maria was a teacher. The children’s mother died. They were very sad and cried . The father was lonely. He was often angry. The songs and plays made them happy. The father wasn’t mad at last.”

Skim the passage and verify if the guessing is right.

Step3.Scan the passage and discuss the following questions in groups. 1.Who is the leading role in the movie? 2.Where did the story happen? 3.What did she go to the Von Trapp family to do? 4.Why did she go to care for them? 5.How did she help the family?
