Ability Aims: 1.Let the students cooperate to complete the design of traffic safety poster. 2.Let most students can repeat the text idea. Emotional Aims: Tell students to cherish life and pay attention to traffic safety.

Teaching important points and difficult points. Important points: 1.Read the text and understand that children in different places must choose different modes of transportation according to local conditions. 2.Provide corresponding safety advice for different modes of transportation. Difficult points: 1.New words: Munich ,Germany ,Alaska, Papa Westray,

Scotland,sled,ferry. 2.Reasoning based on the details of the text.

Teaching procedure.

I.Warming –up 1.Free talk(between T and Ss) A:How do you come to school? B:I usually \often\sometimes come... . 2.Let’s play a brain storm game.How many ways can you think of to go to school?【Design idea:复习学过的上学方式，激活已有的知识储备，为文本阅读做好铺垫。】

II. Presentation Pre-reading 1.The first reading :Read and find the answer What’s the text about? That’s our topic today. (板书课题) ：Different ways to go to school 【Design idea：通过快速阅读，引出课题。】

2. The second reading:

Read the text quickly and underline the ways to

go to school with “—” . Q:How many ways to go to school can you find? 3. The third reading:

Read the text again and underline the places with “﹏”. Q:How many places are mentioned in the text? 4.Fill in the form. 【Design idea：学习新单词，为阅读扫清障碍。】

5.Read carefully . Part1: (Show the first picture)How do the children go to school? Where are they? Introduced the geographical location and ethnic customs of Munich . Part2: (Show the second picture) What is the weather like there ? What is this ? It is a sled .Why do they go to school by sled ? It snows a lot. Part3: (Show the third picture)In some places, there are so many rivers. So they go to school by ferry. Like in Jiangxi, China. Part 4: (Show the fourth picture) And in Papa Westray, Scotland,the children go to school by ferry,too. Why did they go to school by plane in 2009? 【Design idea：细读文本，抓住关键词；了解涉及到的几个地方的大体方位，形成世界意识。】

III.Consolidation
