Teaching Objectives

1. Read and say the following words: cake, noodles, ice cream, bread, rice and milk.

2. Use expertly the expression of “What do you like? I like……”

3. Capable of listening, speaking and reading the words.

4. Capable of listening and reading the expression of “What do you like? I like……”

5. Affect:

(1) Develop teamwork spirit through group work and pair work.

(2) Build up Ss’ interest in English through performance and songs.

Teaching keys:

1. Have Ss know how to name the food and drink in this lesson.

2. Have Ss be able to express likes with “I like…”.

3. Have Ss use the sentence pattern to communicate with their partners.

Teaching difficulties:

1. On top of the pronunciation of the words.

2. On top of using sentence pattern “What do you like? I like……”

3. Mastering the last sounds of cake, bread ,milk and how to pronounce “br” “ea” in bread.

Teaching aids: CAI

Teaching Procedure:

Step1: Warming-up:

1. Greeting.

2. Read the title-Unit 7 Food and Drink

3.Ask Ss some questions.

Step 2: Presentation

1. Leading-in: Show the pictures and ask individual student some questions about likes.

2. Review the words and the sentence pattern ”What do you like? I like……”

a. Have Ss see the pictures and say the words.

b. T says the words, Ss spell the words.

c. Have Ss read the words one by one in groups.

d. T writes down the sentence pattern, Ss read after T and practice the sentence pattern in pairs.

e. Sing a song together:“What do you like?”

f. T shows the pictures of the shop, have Ss guess what food the shop has.

Then practice the conversation by using the words and the sentence pattern. g. Put Ss in pairs to ask and answer the questions.

Step3: Chant: cake, cake, I like cake…..Yum!

Step4: Games;

1. Guessing.

2. Look carefully, say and spell the words.

3. Look carefully and answer the questions.

Step 5: Consolidation

1. Dividing Ss into eight groups, each group has one seller, and the other group members are customers.

2. T asks some individual Ss to come to the platform, and practice the conversation. The conversation:

The seller: Hello!/ Hi!

The customer: Hello!/ Hi!

The seller: What do you like?

The customer: I like…

The seller: Here you are.

The customer: Thank you.

3. Have Ss practice the conversation by groups.

Step 6: Summary:

Summarize what have learned in this class and review the words and sentence pattern.

Step 7: Homework:

1. Copy the Target for 2 times.

2. Draw a picture about your favorite food.
