一、教材分析

本节课通过继续学习英美国家的节日，在中西文化的交融中培养学生的跨文化意识，增强学生热爱祖国和弘扬中国传统文化的意识，以此提高英语学习的兴趣。

六年级的同学，在以往的学习中已经学过了一些关于英美国家的节日内容，如Christmas，Halloween，Mother’s Day等，通过复习和再学习，在口语操练中不断增加和拓宽交际内容，促进学生用英语思维，用英语做事的能力。

二、教学目标

1.情感目标：学会用英语讨论和描述感恩节等中西方节日，进一步认识到中西方文化的差异，中西方文化都是世界文化遗产中宝贵的财富。

2.知识目标：

新单词：festival, thanksgiving 重点句型：Thanksgiving is my favourite festival.

We always have a special dinner.

We say’Thank you ’for our food ,family and friends.

三、教学重点难点

教学重点：学会应用所学单词和句型描述和讨论感恩节等中西方节日。

教学难点：正确区分节日名称和每个节日的习俗。

四、教具准备

PPT、单词卡和句子卡、磁石、红色心形卡纸、花束。

五、教学过程

Step 1 Warmer T: Let’s sing

an song ‘We wish you a happy Christmas.’

T: Christmas is western festival.

T: Blackboard “festivals”

Teach new word: “festivals”

T: Here are some pictures of festivals , can you guess? Ss: Yes! Mother’s Day ,

Children’s Day ,Halloween……

T: Do you know Thanksgiving Day? Blackboard : “Thanksgiving”

and teach it . T: What's your favorite festival? My favorite festival is Thanksgiving . Ss: My favorite festival is……

Activity 1 talk about favorite festival.(practice in pairs) Step 3 Presentation T: Which is Simon’s favorite festival? Please learn to answer.

Activity 2 Ask and answer Listen to the tape and answer the questions. 1.

Answer: His favourite festival is Thanksgiving. Show some materials and pictures of Thanksgiving 2.
