The analysis of teaching materials:

This class is about PEP grade4 Unit1PartC Storytime.The sitiations of the story are connected with the daily life. So students are interested in the class. Therefore we can set the situation to describe the story and act it in role-play. From the class students can use what they learnt to talk about the story with their partners. It can train students’ ablilities of learning language. II

The analysis of students:

Students of grade 4 have been learning Engllish for about two years, so they have aquired some words and sentences. They can learn together with the teacher’s guide. III

Teaching aims：

Knowledge aim :Be able to understand the story and read the story. Ability aim:

Be able to understand the directive and do the corrseponding activities and the students’

listening and speaking abilities will be improved. Mortal aim:

Improve students’ confidence of learning English and help them be more interested in English. IV

Master the new words (hungry and full) and the usage

of the sentence (It’s time for… ;This way, please) Difficult points:

Apply them into daily life and act the story. V

Teaching methods: Audio-lingual teaching method, communicative teaching method, TPR teaching method. VII

Teaching steps: Step1: Warming up A:Greetings Ss: Good morning ,teacher

T: Good morning, students. T: Nice to meet you. Ss: Nice to meet you, too. T: How are you today? Ss: Fine, thanks. How are you?

T: I’m fine too. B:Action game named” hands up” to arise students’ interest. Step2: Review

1. Show somepicutures to ask students what they are to review words of this unit. 2.Use the situation to practice the key sentences of this unit and ask students to make a conversation with the sentences.

Step3: Presenatation

Activity1: Learn the story First took at the screen, show students there are two friends coming. Ask students who they are. Oh, they are Zip and Zoom. Now today we’ll learn Storytime section. Yeah, now look at the picture and ask”

Where are they? Ss answer: Our school. T: Now welcome to the school and let’s learn the story. Learn two words hungry and full with body language.

Activity 2: Read and listen to the story 1.Point to pictures and read the story after the teacher. Then

do the ask and answer section. GroupA: Ask. GroupB: Answer. Exchange each group. 2.Listen to the story and pay more attention the pronounciation. Activity3 :Act the story According to the story, work in pairs, I’ll give students several minutes to prepare the story . Pay attention to the feelings of each characters. Then ask volunteers to show their play in the front. Step4: Consolidation Read the story again and find out the answer to the question: “Where is Zoom? Ask students to do it, then check the answer.

Step5: Summary

Conclude what we have learnt today.Ask Ss to conclude with me together.And then tell them to love our school for an old saying”

School is a paradise for students to grow up happily”. At last, compare with the two groups and find out which group is winner. Clap hands for ourselves. Step6: Homework Tell the story to your parents and share it with them. Step7: Blackboard Design Unit1 My school
