Step1. Pre-reading

1. Review: Read the words we have learned.

2. Two questions:

(1) How do you come to school?

(2) How many ways can you think of to go to school?

3. With the pictures to lead in the different ways to go to school.

Step 2. While-reading

1. Task 1 skimming ---1 minute

How many ways to go to school can you find in the text? Underline them.

Four. On foot, by sled, by ferry and by plane.

2. Task 2 scanning ---3 minutes

(1) Does everyone in the text go to school?

No, Robin doesn’t go to school.

(2) How do children go to school in Alaske, USA? Why?

By sled. Because it snows a lot.

3. Task 3 Group work Have a group discussion in your groups and translate the sentences one by one.
