Students: 45 Heilong Primary School students, Grade 4

Lesson duration: 40 mins

Teaching aims:

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

1.master new words and phrases: tomato(es) 西红柿, carrot(s) 胡萝卜, green beans 豆角;四季豆, potato(es)马铃薯;土豆.

2.motivate students.

Teaching contents: A Let`s learn Let`s chant

Teaching approaches: CLT

Teaching aids: boards, chalk, pictures

Teaching focuses and knots: master the new words and phrases Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Greetings and warming-up

Greet the whole class as usual.

T: Nice to meet you. /How are you ?/What`s the weather like today?/What is it?/What are these?

Ss:

Step 2 presentation and more practice

a) T: What is it?/What are these?

Ss:

T explains new words: tomato(es)西红柿,carrot(s)胡萝卜.

Ss follow T.

b) All the Ss reads.

c) Every group reads.

d) Boys read. Girls read.

e) T: Look at the …They`re so…The …are so…

Ss:

T explains new words and phrases: green beans豆角;四季豆, potato(es) 马铃薯;土豆, onion(s)洋葱.

Ss follow T.

f) Ss consciously read.

g) Deskmates read.

Step 3 Extension

a) Ss follow T to read “Let`s chant”.

b) Group work.

Four Ss as a group say”Hello! I like…”one anoter.
