Good morning! I’m contester NO…. I’m Zhu Yan from Yibin Cuiping Tanghu Foreign Language School. It’s my honor to share my ideas about the first period of Unit 2, Module 3 on new Standard English Book 8 (started from Grade 3) with you. I’d like to explain my teaching plan and the reasons by seven aspects:

Ⅰ. Teaching Materials analyzing In this lesson, the students will learn to talk about the present tense. Such topic is closely related to their daily life. So it’s very useful and easy to master. asks the students to greet each other and exchange their own information by some simple English, and to foster a sense of English. According to the course standard and the text, I set up the teaching goals of this unit. Ⅱ.Teaching Goals: 1. To help the students talk about weather with this sentence style “ The sun is shining.” and make sure they can use it in real life. 2. To make sure the students master how to ask others with this sentence style “ The ducks are eating our picnic.”

Ⅲ. Teaching Difficulties and Focuses 1. Key words: shine, cry, everyone, fly away, just, cow, blow, rabbit 2. Key phrases: drink water,fly away 3. Key sentence: The sun is shining. 4. The students may feel puzzled about the pronunciation between “ shine”

and “shining”, and the spelling of “everyone” is also difficult for them. Ⅳ. Teaching Methods:

As we all know: the general target of learning English in primary school is to cultivate the pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of English language. So in this lesson I’ll adopt situation-teaching method, because the best way to learn English is to learn in life. It does not only make the students feel interesting and have a strong will to learn, but also impresses the students. Task-based teaching method is designed in this period as well.

I will arrange four kinds of activities: chanting and singing, passing game, having a competition and group working activity. Ⅴ. Learning strategies:

“Experience-Observation-Imitation-Practice” is a good way for the Ss to learn.

Cooperation is another good way of studying. It requires the students to work together. And it can help them to use and master the target language. Ⅵ. Teaching aids: CAI courseware, word cards, phrase cards,

Unit 2 On Monday I’ll go swimming. The first Period

Ⅶ. Class evaluation: I will divide the class into two groups, and evaluate them by asking them to climb the stairs on the blackboard. And for single student who does good jobs, I will ask others to clap their hands and say “ wonderful”

to praise.

Ⅸ. Teaching steps:

1.Greetings &Warming Up:

The students stand up to sing the song with the music. Later they can sing in groups to have a competition. They must feel interested. 2.Revision: In this step, imagine we are doing some things, the students may use “I’m ...”to practise and review the content of last lesson. Then I ‘d like to ask some students to play the game with me. 3.Lead-in: I will tell them today we are going to talk about a letter, and I will ask them to read this letter and try to answer my questions. 4.New-words Teaching: When I teach the new words, I’ll emphasize on the pronounciations of voewels,after that the students need to point to the word card and follow me to read the words so that they will be familiar with the words.

5.Text-teaching: In this step, I’ll show the pictures of their picnic one by one. Later ask the students to Listen to the tape, and match the sentences on the screen. Then we’ll check and practice reading the target language by boys and girls and exchange later. 6. Game: We’ll play a game in this way. I’ll hit the drum, the Ss pass the doll one by one, when the I stop, the one who holds the doll has to pick one phrase and one day, and other student will ask: “What are you doing?” and the student will use the phrase to answer: “I’m… .”

7. Practising: Here is an exercise for them to consolidate. They need to make sentences with the help of the example sentences and the pictures.

8.Pairwork: Next, the students need to work in pairs to finish the table and try to make conversations. And I’ll ask some groups to come to the front and show us their pictures and talk. 9. Singing a song: Here is also a music for the kids. But first, I need them to read the sentences one by one to be familiar with the content. And then they should clap their hands to follow the rythem. The third time they can sing one sentence by one after the tape. At last, they can sing with the music.

10. Then they will choose to have a competition by fishing the exercise. That’s all my plan. I’m new in teaching, I know I have a long way to go. So, I cherish this chance to challenge myself and make me grow up. Thank you for your listening and thank you for giving me this chance.
