Teaching Design

Teaching content: Review the words in unit 1 and unit 6 of PEP grade six volume1.Including two topics about places and locations,feelings and emotions.These two units mainly appeared with nouns ,adjectives and phrases. Teaching aims:

1 Learn to listen,speak,read and write the words and phrases in these two units. 2 Know how to describe the correct direction in the real life and make suggestions to others. 3 The spirit to cooperate and care about each other. Key points and difficulties: Words in each units and the influence and accuracy of pronunciation. Teaching aids: PPT, word cards,a sheet of paper Teaching methods: Listening-speaking teaching.Game teaching Teaching procedures:

1Warming up Start with a song “If you are happy,clap your hands”

2 Presentation A.

Show the pictures of places we have learned in unit one of last semester.Help students to recall and read the words: Bookstore/ cinema/ hospital /science museum/post office B.

Do and say the location nouns: Crossing/turn left/turn right/Go straight C.

With the cartoons of facial expressions, guide students to think about human feelings then say out the

emotional words: Sad /angry/worried/happy/afraid D.

Give suggestions to others ,using “You should...”

You should see a doctor./You should do more exercises./You should wear warm clothes./You should take a deep breath and count to ten.

3 Consolidation A Play a game: I do .you guess. Boys and girls in two groups,send a representative to the front and search a card each time.Do the actions or

express an English sentence as the card described then other teammates guess the word. B.

Guess right ,get one move on the chess board of blackboard.See who is the first to make a line. C.

Students write down the words on their paper,after finish the competition,teacher read three of them to do the BINGO game. Homework: Read and write the words we have reviewed. Teaching reflection:

Words study is the basic part of English learning,we should pay more attention to it.Also, find out an effective way to remember means a lot.In short, there is no better way ,guide students to learn step by step,they can make progress gradually.
