教学内容:上海版牛津4B M4U2 Festivals in China

第三课时The Spring Festival

教学目标:

知识与能力:

1、能学习和掌握中国传统节日春节的名称:the Spring Festival 以及traditional food, red envelopes, decorate the doors 等相关词汇,做到音、形、义的统一。

2、能进一步学习和巩固频度副词,如:usually, often 等,能在特殊疑问句的问答操练中正确运用。

3、能进一步学习和掌握一般现在时的特殊疑问句及其问答,如: What do you usually do...?逐步形成对春节较为完整的信息获取(如:节日名称、所在的月份、当时的天气、人们的活动以及特殊的食物等)。

文化与情感:

通过进一步了解中国传统节日——春节,感受中国的传统文化,从而提醒孩子们勿忘中国心,勿忘我们的传统节日和文化。

教学重难点:

1、从总体上介绍春节所在的月份、当时的天气以及春节在中国的重要性。

2、通过两个时间段:before / during the Spring Festival,引导学生归纳春节特有的一些活动,学习和运用traditional food, decorate

the doors, red envelopes 等相关词汇。

3、学习和掌握一般现在时的特殊疑问句及其回答,完整地介绍春节。

学生情况分析:

本节课的执教对象是四年级的学生,四(8)班的学生总体水平较好,他们活泼好动、思维活跃,一直对英语学习有着浓厚的兴趣,大部分学生已经逐渐养成了良好的学习习惯:课堂上他们能积极投入到各种活动中去,也比较乐于用英语与伙伴交流。通过三年多的英语学习,已经积累了一定的语言知识。在学习本单元内容之前,他们已经初步接触过一些有关节日的材料学习,如:the Mid-autumn Festival , the Dragon Boat Festival 等,感受到与节日相关的文化;同时,他们也能较为熟练地运用I usually... 句型、一般现在时态的相关内容进行表达与交流。但是,如何让学生既掌握语言知识又感受到浓浓的节日氛围,对教师的教学设计提出了更大的要求。

教学过程:

一、Preparation

1、Greetings:

What day is it today? How is the weather? How are you? 2、Sing a song: the months of a year.

二、Presentation &Practice

1、Talk about favourite festivals in China and its time.

T: What’s your favourite festival? When is it?

Ss: My favourite festival is ... It usually comes in ...

2、Introduce Kitty. She wants to know more about Chinese festivals.

Kitty: These festivals are interesting. Can you tell me more? 3、Listen to the song and guess”What festival is it?”

T: Today we will introduce an important festival in China. Listen to the song. What festival is it?

Ss: The Spring Festival.

4、Answer the questions and read the passage together. Q: When is the Spring Festival?

How is the weather?

Passage:

5、To learn the Spring Festival. What do you do before the Spring Festival?

Kitty: It must be fun. What do you do before the Spring Festival?

(1)Learn “traditional”

T: Do you know any traditional food?

Ss: Rice food, fish, dumplings...

Activity: Clap hands and make a chant by two.

Traditional , traditional.

(2)Learn “decorate with Fu Mark”

T: We also decorate the doors with Fu Mark. It can bring us good luck. Can you write the Fu Mark?

Ss: Yes. Let’s write it!

Activity: write the Fu marks

T: We write the Fu Mark. Where can we decorate them? Activity: decorate the classroom and say “We decorate... with Fu Mark ” in groups.

6、To learn the Spring Festival. What do you do during the Spring Festival?

Kitty: Look! I write the Fu Mark too. That’s exciting ! What do you do during the Spring Festival?

(1)Learn “envelopes”

T: Let’s watch a video and find the answer.

Activity: watch a video and find out”What is Chinese tradition?”

T: Where do you get envelopes? Do you want my envelopes? What’s in your envelope?

Activity: encourage students to say” I can get envelopes from my ...”. Then give students some envelopes and ask them some questions.

(2)Listen and find out “What else do you do during the Spring Festival?”

Activity: watch and match

三、Production

1、Introduce the Spring Festival in groups. Invite some groups to say.

Ss: Before the Spring Festival, we usually...

During the Spring Festival, we usually...

It’s traditional !

2、Read the passage on the English book, then judge the sentences.

四、Progress

1、Watch a video. Find out how do Chinese who lives in the

other countries celebrate the Spring Festival.

2、Wherever you are, don’t forget you’re Chinese. Don’t forget Chinese tradition.
