Unit 4 Fruit Teaching content: The Vocabulary of Unit Four . Teaching aims: Mastering the new words and identifying fruits.

Enable to ask about fruit by "what's this ?"and "what 're these ?" Teaching key points: Mastering the new words. Teaching difficult points: Asking about and identifying fruits. Teaching aids: A tape recorder and some pictures. Teaching procedure: 一.Organization. 1.Sing some English songs. 2.Greetings each other. T: Boys and girls! How are you? Ss: I am fine, thank you! T: Today, I’m happy. How about you?

Ss: I am happy/sad. T: Thanks. Ok, boys and girls! Sit well. Let’s go to the supermarket , ok? 二.Review the words and show the topic

T: I like apple. Do you like apple? Ss: Yes, I like apple./No, I don’t like apple.

T: Look, what’s this? (by showing the picture ) Ss: It’s an apple.

T: Good! It’s an apple .And these? What are these?

Ss: two apples.

T: Yeah! You are great! Two apples! They are apples .

三.Presentation . 1.Put Picture Cards on the board. 2.Show each Picture Card,say the word and have Ss listen. Ask the Ss to listen to the

words of “ a banana , a pear , an orange , a cherry , a strawberry , a peach , a grape ,

a watermelon ”. 3.Ask the Ss to raise up the picture of fruits what T says . 4.T takes out of a picture of a banana , and ask “What’s this ?”

Ss : It’s a banana . 5.Lead the Ss to read and learn the other vocabulary in the same way . 6.T takes out of a picture of bananas , and ask “What are these ? ”

Ss : They’re bananas . 7.Ask the Ss to read out the plurals of the vocabulary such as :

bananas , pears , oranges , cherries , strawberries , peaches , grapes , watermelons 四.Drill 1.T takes out of some pictures , and ask the Ss to answer the questions such as : What’s this ?

They’re …. 2.Ask some Ss to perform in the platform . 3.Ask the Ss to talk about and identify fruits with the language structures . 五..Consolidation . 1.Ask the Ss to open their book and turn to Page 27 , Vocabulary .Play the tape and have Ss repeat each word. 2.Chant "show me ……，show me ……”

3.T:(Point to the strawberries.)What are these? [Ss:Strawberries.] 4.Continue with other pictures. 5.Look at the pictures and fill in the blanks.
