First, Ask students to enjoy English hand-written paper of saving the trees in front of the class..

T: Trees are important in our daily lives. They help us in many ways. Would you like to give us some examples? Please share your English hand-written paper with us. (students’ activities: sharing the English hand-written paper)

Then, the teacher is dancing to the music of “Liang liang”.

At the same time, ask a question: What am I doing now?

Help students answer: You are dancing now. Next, Play a video: A girl is playing the piano.

Ask a question: What is the girl doing now?

1 Present the meaning of present continuous tense by showing two pictures from <>

2 Present the structure of present continuous tense by observing sentences to work out the rule.

Present the symbol words of present continuous tense .

There are five pictures about people in the park. Ask student to look at the pictures and complete the passage with the verbs in brackets.

Then ask students to work out the rule: We form the present continuous tenses with the verb to be+(the base form/the -ing form)of the main verb. We form the -ing form of the main verbs like this:

(设计意图: 首先展示学生最喜欢的《猫和老鼠》里面的两张动态图片，让学生理解现在进行时的意义。然后，让学生通过观察现在进行时的句子，总结出它的结构。由于在教学过程中发现学生很容易忘记be和V-ing.于是借助一个女孩跳舞的图片给学生打比方：主语相当于人的头，be相当于脖子，不同肤色的人搭配不同颜色的脖子。白皮肤的人搭配白色脖子，黄皮肤的人搭配黄色脖子，黑皮肤的人搭配黑色脖子。动词相当于人的身体，-ing相当于人的衣服。三者缺一不可。接下来，借助人们在公园里活动的一些图片，让学生补全文章。这样使语言情境化了，同时向学生展示了进行时的标志性的词语。最后，让小组运用观察，讨论的方法给一些动词找家，目的是突破这节课的难点：让学生掌握动词-ing的构成法则。）

Step 3 Play a game: Act and guess (students’ activities)

Step 4 Practice and pair work.

1 Pair work: Look at the picture on page 50, ask and answer questions like this:

A : What is /are ..........doing now?

B: She/He/They are ............ now.

2 Look at the picture and complete the conversation with the verbs in brackets. Then practice the conversations in pair.

(设计意图：通过pair work, 学生练习了现在进行时的特殊疑问句及答语。通过补全对话，学生练习了现在进行时的结构和动词的现在分词。）

Step 5 Writing and group work. It is Tree Planting Day. Some people are working near Rebecca’s

home. Look at the four pictures and describe them with the words in brackets.

First,look at each picture, ask and answer in pair. For example:

Question: What is/are .......doing now?

Answer: He/they is/are................ now. Then, describe the pictures with the words in brackets. Next, Check the writing in group. Finally, Share some good writings in class.

Example:

Picture 1: It is Tree Planting Day. Some people are working near Rebecca’s home. Two workers are digging holes in the ground.

Another worker is planting a tree in a hole.

Picture 2: Two workers are carrying a large container. Another worker is planting some flowers in a container.

Picture 3: After planting, two workers are cleaning the area.Another worker is watering the plants.

Picture 4: Finally, the workers are leaving the area. Rebecca and his mother are saying goodbye to the workers. （设计意图：首先让学生通过观察图片，运用现在进行时进行问答练习，为写作做准备。然后，让学生用所给词进行连词成句的写作练习，从而提高学生的写作技能。写完后，小组互评。最后，全班分享并学习优秀作品。）

Step 6 Conclusion

This lesson ,we learned the present continuous tense. And we can use it to show something is happening now. We also use the present continuous tense to write a passage about Tree Planting Day. I hope everyone should try to plant more trees in the future not only on that day . Because trees are very important in our lives and they can make the Earth more beautiful. Step 7 Homework
