Teaching aims:

1、知识目标:

(1)学生能听、说、读、写本课时的重点单词:

sit,grass,hear,ant,worry,stuck,mud,pull,everyone.

(2)学生能读懂“read and write”部分的故事短文。

(3)学生能完成故事短文后的习题,培养学生的阅读技巧和阅读乐趣。

2、能力目标:

(1)学生能听、说、读、写本课时的重点单词:

(3)学生能用自己的英语复述故事“robin and the ant”。

(2)学生学习和运用本单元的句型和词汇,能懂得“We should always be nice to each other.”的道理。

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Preparation

1. Sing a song: If you are happy.

2. Free talk

(1)Show faces with different feelings, ask:How does he feel?

Let students match the faces with the words: angry、happy、afraid、sad.

(2)T:I’m sad/angry/afraid. What should I do? Let students give some suggestions with the sentences:Don’t be... You should...

Step2 Presentation

1.Pre-reading

Look at the cover of the story,ask:Who are they? How do they feel? Where are they? What’s the weather like? Let students guess: What’s the story about?

2.While-reading

(1) Skimming: Listen and answer

Listen to the passage and answer the question, check together:It’s about Robin and the ant.

(2) Scanning: Read and underline

Read the story quickly, discuss in pairs:How many times did they meet? When did the story happen? Students underline the time phrases,then divide the passage into two parts.

(3)Detail reading:

Read the first part(paragraphs1-3), answer the questions.

What’s the weather like?

What is Robin going to do?

Who says “wait”?

How does the ant feel?

Read the second part(paragraphs4-7),answer the questions.

What’s the weather like?

What’s wrong with Robin?

How does he feel?

Who pulls Robin out of the mud?

How do they feel now?

(Retell part 2 together with the help of the blackboard.

Sum up together:The ant is nice to Robin.)

(4)Sum up and lead in emotional education:

What does the story tell us?

Students:We should always be nice to each other.

3. Post-reading

(1)Number the pictures,find out the sentences for each picture,check answers.
