C. Story time)

I. Teaching material analysis:

The listening exercises here can train the students’ listening abilities and help them review and sum up the key words and phrases of this unit. Students will get some practice in Let’s wrap it up. The story is very interesting and close to children’s daily life. Students will review the main knowledge in this unit while they read the story.

II. Students’ learning situation analysis:

Students have the basic abilities to finish the listening exercises accurately. They will feel the challenge while they try to do them correctly. The story is close to their life. Students will find it very interesting to act it out.

III. Teaching aims:

1. Knowledge aims:

a. Students could be able to listen, understand and finish the listening exercises accurately.

b. Students could be able to recall the key knowledge and make more sentences.

c. Students could understand the story and act it out.

a. Students could finish the listening tasks and make some new sentences.

Step 1 Warming-up.

1. Daily greetings.

2. Sing a song.

Step 2 Revision.

Review the key words and phrases.

Step 3 Presentation

1. Let’s check.

a. Students listen to the record and try to get the key information. Where does the boy want to go? And how can he get there?

b. Students listen and write down the places.

c. Students finish the questions below. d. Students listen and follow the record and they should pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

2. Let’s wrap it up. Boys PK girls to finish the tasks. They try to write down more words and make sentences with them. At last, the group who gives more words and sentences will win. 3. Story time. a. Meet London. Present London eye, Thames, Fish &chips. Students get to know the background through some pictures on the PPT. b. That looks tasty! Teacher brings some fruit to the class and performs that the fruit are tasty. T: That looks tasty! c. Students watch the video and try to understand the story. Then they should answer the questions accurately. Where is the London eye? How can they get there? d. Students listen and read after the story. e. Students read the story in different roles.

Step 4 Consolidation and extension.

Act out the story. Several students will try hard to act out the story in class.

Step 5 Summary.

Sum up the key points of this part. Students talk abut what they’ve learned in this period.

VIII. Homework:

1. Listen and read the story. And act out the story after class with their friends.

2. Try to tell the story to their parents at home.
