5了解东西方收、送礼物文化的差异，明白“礼轻情意重”。

T: Nice to meet you. S2: Nice to meet you, too. T: Are you ready for our lesson today? S: Yes. 【设计意图】在课堂初始向陌生的学生问好，简短问候，让学生开口练习，复习之前所学过的内容，做好上课的准备。

T: First let’s enjoy a song together! You can clap your hands and sing along!（播放歌曲Happy New Year）

T: Boys and girls, what’s the song about?

S: It’s about New Year. T: Yes! It’s about New Year. As we know, It’s 2018 now! It’s a new year!

And I’ve got some presents for you. Look! What’s this?（板书What’s this? It’s a… .）

S1: It’s a sweet!

T: Yes, it’s a sweet! This is for you! S1: Thank you! T: You’re welcome! And what’s this?

S2: It’s a hot dog.

T: And this is for you. S2: Thank you. T: No worries. Boys and girls, we can send our good wishes by saying ”Happy New Year” to each other in the beginning of a new year. Now it’s 2018.

It’s a new year! Happy New Year! S: Happy New Year! T: Thank you! And today we are going to learn unit 8,Happy New year.（板书Unit 8 Happy New Year!）

【设计意图】本环节渗透了What’s this? It’s … .为后面询问礼物做铺垫。和学生进行This is for you.Thank you的练习，让学生了解接受礼物应致谢。给学生小礼物，激发学生的学习兴趣。

Step 2 Presentation T: Look, boys and girls, who are they? S: He’s Mike and she’s Helen./They’re Mike and Helen.

T: Yes! They’re our friends.

Since it’s New Year,

they’ve got a new visitor. Look! Who is he? Do you know? T: He is Uncle John. Follow me please, uncle. u-n-c-l-e, uncle.（板书Uncle John）

T: Why does Uncle John come here? Yes, because he is celebrating New Year with them. What do they say? Look at this picture. S: Happy new year! T: Yes you’re right!

Now let’s listen and read after it.

T: Boys and girls, Uncle John is celebrating New Year with Helen and Mike. What presents does he prepare for them? Let’s watch the video carefully and then tell me the answers. （呈现选择题）

T: Can you tell me the answers? Yes, Uncle John prepares c, d and f for them. （教单词doll, ball, robot，展示洋娃娃，球，机器人的实物，并板书）

【设计意图】再现新年场景，让学生了解并练习说一说新年祝福。先看选择题再看视频最后再核对答案，让学生带着任务进行课堂活动，目标更明确，学习新词的效率更高。

T: Who are they for? Please read the story by yourselves.

（学生带着问题读课文。）

T: Who can match the presents with the children? （请学生上黑板将礼物和人物连一连。）

T: Now, let’s try to act. If you are Uncle John, please try to say ‘This is for you.’

T: Who wants to be Uncle John? T: Here’s the doll. Who can try?

Okay now you’re uncle John and I’m Helen!

S: This is for you. Helen. T: Thank you. （其他两样礼物用同样的方法教授。）

【设计意图】这里的两个活动都让学生更清晰地了解各个礼物的归属，并且通过看、听、练多次巩固了This is for you.的用法。

T: Now, let’s learn the story. Please listen and repeat.

T: In Western culture, when you get a present. you have to open the present immediately. （做动作）And to show your appreciation and love, you can say “Thank you!” or “How nice!”

Do you get it?（拿出礼物盒，让学生体验当场打开和不当场打开的区别。）

S:Yes. T:Brilliant! Now let’s continue!

T: Look, Helen is far away from the box. So what does she say? What’s that? Look, this is a door, and it’s close, but that door is far away from me,（用教室里的两扇门举例，用手做动作让学生理解）

so I should say ”What’s that?” Get it? Let’s see. You please.（指离这位学生比较近和比较远的东西，来让他/她说是this或是that）

【设计意图】准备礼物盒让学生体验东西方收礼物的文化差异，活动让学生有更直观的体验，也更易理解。教室前后两扇门的相对距离也是贴近学生日常生活的事物，方便学生理解this和that的差别。

【设计意图】故事通读后，让学生小组表演这个故事。打开礼物的环节和远近区别的环节都能得到直观的反馈，对于表演和观看的学生都是一次练习、纠正和巩固。

Step 5 Task T: Uncle John gives some really awesome presents to Mike, Helen and Tim. What about them? What presents do they prepare for Uncle John? Try to make a new ending to the story. Discuss it in your groups and then try to act it out! Don’t forget to introduce your roles! 【设计意图】Mike，Helen和Tim会会送怎样的礼物给Uncle John，自编对话，这样的

环节帮助学生操练、运用所学内容，激发学生的想象和创作欲，故事多样的可能性也让学生体会到运用英语的乐趣。

step 6 Homework: 1 Listen and read this story after class, try to retell the story. 2 Try to write down your new endings to the story and tell it to your families and friends. Help your friends if they have trouble doing it. Ask for help if you have any difficulties. (optional) 3. Prepare some presents for your families or friends. Let’s make someone happy today!

【设计意图】复述故事帮助学生梳理故事情节，回顾故事内容。编写故事帮助学生更好地运用本课所学内容，部分学生可能会觉得有难度，提示学生注意提供、寻求帮助。同时这是一项选做作业，不会让学生有压力。最后一项则是让学生为家人朋友准备礼物，这一项任务在训练运用语言的同时，更能让学生明白礼轻情意重，以及为他人带来快乐的可贵。
