Main Stream Step 1. Warm-up 1. Sing an English song. Step 2. Present 1. Brainstorm Aim: to review the topic and facilities and places in our town. 1)
Let Ss tell the topic. 2)
Create a word map on the board. Let Ss review what facilities there are in our town. 3)
According to these facilities, let Ss brainstorm as many places as they can. 2. Help Ss review what should town planners consider when they design a town. 1)
Town planners make sure that people in a town like living there. 2)
They should consider:

Where do people live? b)
How do people go to work? c)
How big does the town need to be? d)
Where can people park their cars? e)
Where can people have fun?
f)
Where can they put hospitals, shops, supermarkets, schools, libraries? g)
What kinds of jobs can people do? 3. Practice: 1)
Ss work in groups to discuss their own town and finish their posters. 2)
Ss give group presentation about their town. 4. Conclusion 5. Homework Think about the policy in your town. Ss can use the grammar structure of this unit “We should…”/ “We shouldn’t…” to make up their policy.
