For Especial Support Learners ESL support: Step One Lead in 

Tell students we are going to write about Istanbul.

Show the five-step writing process to students. Step Two Write about Istanbul 1.Writing Process One: Pre-writing

Student will do a brainstorm, they have to think about the words could be used to describe Istanbul. Students need to know what the noun/verb/ adjective/preposition/auxiliary verb/ conjunction is and how to use them. After that, they need to work in five and classify the words based on different part of speech. It will help students get the idea of describing Istanbul. 2. Writing Process Two: Writing 

Teach students how to describe a place. Use the mind map to help students get the prompts of writing, like the location,flag, tourists attraction, customs and culture, population, language of Istanbul.

Have students use the words from the list and write about Istanbul freely. They do not need to be afraid of the grammatical mistakes. It won’t stop students thinking.

2. Writing Process Three: Revision 

When students do the revising their writing , they could adopt A.R.R.R approach. Students also need to review the basic sentence structure. Show students differen sentence structure.

Then students make corrections. 3. Writing Process Four: Editing 

Have students do a jigsaw writing. They have to think about the first and the second thing they

want to talk about Istanbul. 

Put all the sentences in order. 4. Writing Process Five: Publishing(differentiation teaching methods)

Show students x-way to present their understanding: PPT, i-Books, posters, mind maps, pictures Student will do a differentiated work. Present their writing in front of class.

Step Three Further reading and writing. 

Practice sharing with each other and check predictions.

Practice writing key words and sentences.

Writing and differentiated works activity to ensure students know how to write a place.

Students are ESL group. They have a little bit difficult on writing. It is a very good demonstration method to show the five-step writing process to students. Student know how to write about Istanbul through practicing the words and the sentences. 教学反思

The mind map is also a very good way to help students get the idea of writing. Reflection They worked in five or two or work alone, they share their ideas and works. It could help them build their confident. They also are encouraged to use their favorite ways to present their works.
