Unit3 Weather Useful expressions

Teaching aims:

1.Knowledge objective:

Master the key words and phrases in unit3.

2.Ability objective:

Be able to talk about weather with the target language frequently and properly. 3.Moral objective:

Encourage students to take good care of the earth and timely change their clothes according to the weather. Teaching main and difficult points:

1.Master the key words and phrases in unit3.

2.Be able to talk about weather with the target language properly.

Teaching aids:

Multi-media, blackboard.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warm-up

1.Greetings.

2.Enjoy a song: Weather song.

Step 2 Lead in

1.T:What’s the song about?

A:Time B:Weather

Ss:B

2.T:Can you say any words about weather?

Ss:cold /warm/cool……..

The teacher shows the new words and ask ss to read together.

Step 3 Presentation

1.Show a picture and teach the new word: outside—go outside.

2.Show some pictures to practice the sentence pattern 1:

—Can I go outside now?

—Yes,you can./

No,you can’t.It’s ……today.

3.A tour of seven colored flowers. Show some pictures and ask ss to make sentences with the sentence pattern2:

—What’s the weather like in ……?/How is the weather?

—It’s ……in……

4.Show some pictures to practice the sentence pattern 3:

—Is it cold/……?

—Yes,it is./ No, it isn’t.

Step 4 Practice

1.Task 1 :Make a choice.

2.Task2:Ask ss to make a new dialogue for John and his father. 3.Task3:I’m a weather reporter. Step 5 Extension

Emotion education:

The weather changes, we should timely change clothes.

Step 6 Homework

1. Write a weather report by yourself. And then read it to your parents.

2. Use the useful expressions to make a dialogue with your partner and perform.
