Tang costume stands for Chinese history and fashion culture.

Chinese fashion is different not only from western fashion, but also from that in other Asian countries, such as Japan and Korea. 3.Learn about Chinese traditional fashion culture.

Key points: 1.Talk about the Chinese traditional costume culture. 2.Learn something about the costume of minorities.

Ⅴ .Teaching aids: Computer multimedia projector, a suit of Han costume.

Ⅵ Teaching procedures:

Leading in: Step1: Greet students ready for learning . Step2: Introduce Han costume and show some pictures of Han costume for girls and boys, then showing the change of the Chinese traditional costume culture.

Pre-reading: Step1: Showing some pictures and learn some new words, then read them loudly. Step2:

let the students look at the pictures of 2a&2b and identify the

clothes in the pictures. Then read and understand the words in the box of 2b&2a. Step3: Ask students to match the pictures with the correct Chinese minorities, then ask students to tell the answer.

While-reading: Step1: Ask students a question, “What do you know about Tang costume?” and let them to skim the passage to learn something about Tang costume. While reading the passage the students can underline the new words, understand them according to the words around them and the meaning of the sentences.

Step2: Read the passage carefully and complete the diagram of 1b and the questions of 1c. Step3: Ask students to write down the answer of 1b on blackboard, and answer these questions of 1c.

Post-reading: Step1: Retell this passage with the help of key words, then read after the tape. Step2: Mark the difficult points, and help students to understand this passage clearly.

Development: Discuss these three questions of 3, and talk about them with partner, and think about “What do you think of Han costume?” and make a poster.
