Tidy up ! Teaching Design

Learning Objectives:

1.Learn the key words: tidy let sock yours cap mine hers theirs tidy up the key sentences : What a mess ! Are they yours? No, they aren’t.

2.Students can consolidate and use the key words

and sentences to express the related topic correctly.

3.Use modeled sentences to get information and indicate possesion.

Learn the importance of developing a good habit.

Activity 1 Think and read

a.Show the personal pronoun table (PPT 4) and write two model sentences.

Ask students to find out the different usage between

my and mine in the example sentences.

b.Help students summarize the usage of possessive

pronouns and noun possessive pronouns.

Activity 2 Think and say

a.Show the common item pictures. Tell students to fill in the blanks and talk about them in pairs (PPT 5).

Activity 3 Show a picture and learn the daily expression “What a mess”

with the help of the picture . Read it several times (PPT 6).

Activity 4 Learn the context

a.Play the recorder. Students listen to it carefully.

b.Tell students to finish the task on page 3 (PPT 7).

While they are listening the second time.

Activity 5 Say and act.

Show the three topic pictures . Divide the students into two groups. Then tell them to act them out one by one (PPT 8-10).

Past-task activities:

Activity 1 Practice

Step1 Tell students to take some of their own stuff out and mix them together in groups.

Step2 Make a model dialogue with a better student , then ask the students to make their own dialogues.

Step3 Invite several groups to show their conversations in front of the class , the others grade.

Activity 2

Step1 Tell students to write two singular sentences and complex sentences (changing in person and number) to describe the stuff on their desks.

Step 2 Read their own sentences, the others judge if they are right. Homework

1. Listen to the recorder and read the dialogue on pages 2 and 3. 2. Ask and answer with your partners. 3. Tidy your bedroom .
