How about exploring Tian’anmen Square Section C Ⅰ. Material analysis 这是第六单元第二话题的Section C。本课为阅读课，话题围绕孩子们游览天安门广场而展开。主要内容包含：Michael邀请Darren来中国度假、孩子们游览天安门广场、描述游览过程及发生的事情。学生通过学习本话题可以更好地了解天安门广场并培养他们热爱旅游、积极探索、热爱祖国的态度，同时学会叙述旅行经历。

Ⅱ. Learning analysis 我校大多数学生英语基础知识较差，应用能力薄弱。另外，学生在情感态度、学习策略和文化意识方面还存在一些问题。如：学生学习英语的目的不明确，对学好英语缺乏自信，不敢用英语表达，缺乏小组合作意识。

Knowledge aims:

①学生能正确拼读单词和短语。

②学生能学会如何叙述旅行经历。

Skill aims: ①能听懂有关旅游经历的短文或对话。

②能使用英语来叙述旅游经历。

Play a song 《Welcome to Beijing》. By this song improving the students’

interest in learning and knowing about some tourist attractions in Beijing . Step 2 Pre-reading

Play the video, show four pictures about this passage , let students listen to it and look at the pictures , guess its right order and what the passage is about .

2.

Let students read 1a quickly, check the answers that they guessed

just now and finish 1b. Step 3 While-reading

1.Let students find out the new words and phrases about traveling, the teacher ask some students to write them on the blackboard.The teacher check them with other students together and sum them up . The teacher teach students to read them loudly .

2.Ask students to read each paragraph in detail and answer the questions on PPT . Paragraph 1：

Where did they go ?

How did they go there ?

Paragraph 2:

How did Darren and Michael’s feel when they arrive at Tian’anmen Square ?

What did they do ?

Paragraph 3:

What happened about Darren ?

What did he do when he was in trouble ?

According to this passage ,what happened at last ? Step 3 Post-reading 1.

Let students read again 1a and finish 1c and ask some students to answer them .

Play game--- Silent transmission

Divide the students into different groups , the teacher show the first student a new word , then he / she pass this word with action to next student , one by one, the last student need to guess and read it loudly which word was showed , the team with the shortest time to win . 3.

Retell the story and talk about own traveling experience in group . Let students answer them . Step 4 Summary
