Teaching Procedures
Step1.
Warming up
and
revision (about 5minutes) (1)
Daily greetings to the students. T: Good morning! Ss: Good morning! (2) revision T:What is this in English?

Ask questions about the pictures, using the PPT.
Revise the stuctures:
what’s this/that’it...?

(show some letter cards which they have learnt before.) Ss:It is

K , B , M...,) T: A, A for what? Ss:A, A for apple . T: B for what? Ss: B. B for boy. StepⅡ
Presentation T: What’s this? (show letter cards.)
Ss. It’s S.( say it with Ss together if necessary)
T: S ,S for what? Ss: S ,S for student.( Ask the same questions with T, U.V,W,X,Y,Z)
1a: Ask Students to find the capital letters in the picture to match the
lower case letters. Then check the answers. Step3. listen and repeat 1b:
Play the recording. Stop the tape after each letter and have students repeat.
Check pronunciation and correct if necessary. 2a,2b:
Play the recording again.
Have students repeat the eight letters in one set. Check pronunciation and correct if necessary. Step4.Look and copy 1.The teacher demonstrate drawing the letters on the board. Demonstrate how students can use the lines in the book to assist them in writing the letters. Move around the room checking on their work.
2.Finsh exercise 2d. Step 5. Talking
Ask students if they recognize any of the abbreviations, and know what they stand for. Have students discuss in groups. If necessary, provide some hints, such as asking where they have seen any of these logos before. Answers: S-小号
