IV. Teaching steps and methods

Step 1 :Warming-up 1.

Free talk. 2.

Sing a song “ Nod your head ”

Step 2: Presentation

1.

Teacher show a story book and tell a story about “Animals sports meeting” to the Ss. 2.

Read and show the story again and ask Ss answer a question “What are animals in the story ?”

T:Now ,boys and girls .Who can tell me what are they in my story ? Ss: The giraffe, the rabbit , the horse, the elephant, the mouse…

Teacher write these words on the blackboard. After that,Teacher use PPT show a picture about story book.

T: OK, boys and girls,look at this picture and answer my another question.

What is hot and what is cold in the story ?

Ss:The sun is hot ,the ice cream is cold.

T:Yes,good.(Write hot and cold on the blackboard. ) Teach the new words : hot & cold Practice the words in groups, one by one ,two by two…

Teach other new words (tall & short ,big & small, fast & slow, happy & sad .)like this . 3.

Do the action with these words(tall , short, happy ,sad, fast, slow,big, small…) A:The teacher say the word and do the action. B:Let some students do the action. C:Let some students do the action and others guess. Step 3 Consolidation A: Chant

Teacher use PPT show these words, teacher chant it at the first time ,and then,let Ss chant after teacher like this:

Hot, hot. The sun is hot. Cold, cold. The ice cream is cold. Tall, tall. The giraffe is tall. Short ,short. The horse is short. Big, big. The elephant is big. Small, small. The mouse is small. Fast, fast. The rabbit is fast. Slow, slow. The turtle is slow. Happy, happy. The tiger is happy. Sad, sad. The dog is sad. B:Play game (Words party) Use Flash show some pictures, let students remember the location of them. Try to find out the opposites. C:Look and circle(Use PPT and electronic whiteboard, ask Ss go ahead the whiteboard to circle it and write down the words.) T: What can you see in the pictures ? Try to find out the opposites.

D: The dice game.

Use

PPT show a dice , ask Ss click the dice, and then ,It will appear some words, let Ss make sentences with these words. In this part, Ss must use computer on their seat.

Step 4 1.

Do some exercises in the book.(Read and tick) 2.

Talk with your partners, say more words.(Say some words about opposites) Step 5 Summary 1.
