一、整体思路
本节课使用了开心学英语五年级上册的Unit 5 School Lunch的Reading and Writing(Vegetable Soup)。本课的教学目的是通过语篇教学让孩子们了解做汤的方法,从中让他们学会合理安排时间和学会分享,并帮助他们的父母做事。为此,我在课前让学生观看做鱼汤的视频,让学生在课前理解做汤步骤,为接下来做蔬菜汤做好铺垫。
二、教学目标
1. 知识和能力:通过对这篇文章的学习,使学生懂得如何做蔬菜汤。基本能听懂、会说、会读词汇或短语:potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, water, a spoon of…, small pieces, peel cut…into, put…into…, 理解整篇食谱的内容。
2. 过程和方法:1. 通过观看视频,排序和讨论话题等活动,让学生理解单词、短语;
2. 理解并掌握本课重点内容;
3. 通过个人,结对活动能方式,促使学生相互合作,共同探讨出解决实际问题建议。
4. 情感与态度:通过对语篇的学习,倡导学生学会做事,合理运用时间做事。
三、重点难点
掌握文章中的动词,理解每一做汤步骤及先后次序, 并运用到生活中。

五、教学过程
(一)Pre-reading

T: Do you want to know more about me?
Ss: What do you like? 2. T: I like soup. There are many soup around the world. Chinese people like chicken soup, seafood soup, mutton soup and pork soup. Thai people like Tom Yum soup. Western people like spinach soup, mushroom soup, pumpkin soup and snail soup.
T: I like vegetable soup. Today I want to make vegetable soup.

1. T: But I don’t know how to make vegetable soup. Let’s surf the Internet and look for the video.
Let’s watch the video and remember the steps.

T: Yes. But we also need potatoes.

We need some potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, salt and sugar.
5. There are five steps in the recipe.
6. T: Listen to the tape again, try to find out the words you don’t understand and circle it.
6mins Step 1(First) Wash and peel the potatoes.
(Peel the carrots, banana , apple)
Step 2(Then) Cut the potatoes, tomatoes, and carrots into small pieces.
(Cut …into small pieces)
Step 3( After that) Put the salt, potatoes and carrots in the water. Cook for 20 minutes.
Step 4( Later) Put the tomatoes in the water.
Cook for 5 minutes.
T: Why we put the potatoes and carrots at first? Why don’t we put the tomatoes together?
(Because potatoes and carrots need more time to cook. Tomatoes are easy to cook. So we put them later.)
Step 5(Finally) Put in the sugar. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Now, your vegetable soup is ready. (设计意图:让学生再次听煮汤步骤部分的课文录音,让他们在书中圈出不懂的词,然后利用图片和动作,让学生明白新词汇的意思,从而让学生理解煮汤过程的每一步骤。)

T: Let’s write an email to him. Use the words to fill in the blank. Then, you can read the email with your partner. Make sure each step is correct.
