Ⅰ. Teaching Objectives 1.

Knowledge Objectives: ①Ss can review words about good and bad feelings through brainstorm. ②Ss can master new words and expressions in SC such as “environment, especially, fill, trouble, loud, noise, fill with sth” through gap filling. 2.

Skill Objectives: ①Ss can improve their reading skills by completing tasks through fast reading and careful reading. ②Ss can improve their writing skills by writing a short article about how things affect their feelings. 3.

Emotional Objectives: ①Ss can understand the relationship between moods and things outside. ②Ss can learn to keep a healthy mind and control their feelings at any time.

Ⅱ. Teaching Key Points and Difficult Points 1.

Key points: ①Ss can grasp key expressions about how to convey their feelings. ②Ss can talk about how things affect their moods. 2.

Difficult points: ①Ss may not adapt the key expressions to their writing so well. ②Some slow Ss may not catch up with the teaching procedures so well.

Ⅴ. Teaching Procedures Step 1 Warm-up(3 mins) 1.

Brainstorm T asks Ss 2 Qs: What can affect our moods? How many good feelings and bad feelings do you know? T writes down words according to Ss’ answers. 2.

Gap Filling Ss fill in gaps according to pictures, situation, meaning and pronunciation.

【设计意图：通过头脑风暴、挖空填词两种方式，进行浅层词汇处理。分别处理了影响情绪因素类单词、情绪类单词、生词三部分词汇，为学生的接下来的阅读与最后的写作作铺垫，尤其让后进生可以通过板书提示单词的拼写。】

Step 2 Pre-reading(2 mins) 1.

T shows Ss some pictures and asks how do you feel when you see...? So as to lead in the topic: in our life, many things will affect our moods.

T asks Ss to look at pictures in 1a, and Ss predict: what may affect their moods?

Step 3 While-reading(20 mins) 1.

Fast Reading Ss read 1a in 4 minutes and complete P22-1b: find out key words to fill in blanks 2.

Careful Reading ①Ss find out key phrases in 1a paragraph by paragraph. T writes down vital phrases on the blackboard. ②T invites Ss to answer Qs: （Para 1）Why does she feel lonely on the Mid-autumn Festival? （Para 2）Which place does he prefer, city or countryside? Why? （Para 3）Do you think everyone will feel sad when it rains? （Para 4）What do you think of the relationship between colors and moods? （Para 5）How can big events affect our moods? 3.

Translation ①T chooses some sentences in 1a and invites Ss to translate them into Chinese, learning to enjoy the beauty of Chinese. ②T chooses some phrases in 1a and encourages Ss to use other words to take the

place of them, learning to enjoy the beauty of English. 【设计意图：本环节为读中环节，通过快速阅读、仔细阅读两个环节，设置填空、问答环节，锻炼学生略读与精读的技巧，以及口语表达的能力。最后增设翻译环节，尝试语文与英语的学科融合：学生通过尝试佳句翻译，欣赏汉语之美。并且通过同义词组替换，欣赏英语之美。】

Step 4 Post-reading(20mins) 1.

Quick Response: T show Ss some feelings and ask Ss to make sentences to describe when they will have such feelings in their lives. 2.

Writing Ss write some points about the article: (Colors/Weatehr) Affect(s) My Moods 3.
