Step 1

Leading in 1. Showing the KWL chart. 2. Brainstorming.

Discuss in groups. Encourage students to say words about feelings as many as they can. (good/bad)

3. New words—environment, especially, fill(…)with Step 2

Thinking 1, Talk about something to fight against the bad moods. 2. Students read the things in the front of the passage of 1a. And then tick the things that can affect their own feelings and moods. 3. Look at the pictures of 1a and predict what will be mentioned in the text.

4. Students read the paragraphs one by one, and then answer the questions. 5. Read the passage after the recording sentence by sentence. Step 3

Discussing 1. Read the passage by themselves and discuss in groups to find out the difficult points and sum up the main points. 2. Read 1a again and find out the words expressing the feelings . 3. Read 1a by themselves and finish 1b alone. 4. Retell 1a according to the key words and the pictures in groups of six. . （Group work, Competition, mind-map）
