Hongxing Road Primary School Teaching aims: Knowledge aims: Students are able to understand the meanings of “grass, hear, stuck, mud , pull” and so on. Students are able to understand the main idea of the text. Ability aims: Students are able to grasp the gist of the story through different reading skills. Students are able to retell the story. Emotional aims: We should help each other; Unity is power. Teaching focus: Students are able to understand the keynote of the text. Teaching difficulty: Retell the story. Teaching aids: Tape, CAI, etc.

Presentation &Practice 1.

Fast Reading for the general information. 1)

Who are in the story?

The teacher shows the picture of Robin and the ant.

T: Today our story is about Robin and…

S: Robin and the Ant.

T: Yes. This story is about Robin and the little ant. 2)

Where are they? T: Look at the cover. Can you guess? S1: Maybe they are in the forest. S2: Maybe they are in the park. 3)

When does this story happen? T: Please read the text quickly and underline the time. Ss answer the questions, then the teacher writes down the key words on the blackboard. 4)

What happens in the story?

Read quickly and number the pictures. (通过几个wh-question培养学生快速获取基础信息的能力，同时为之后的精读打下基础。)

Read paragraph 1-3.

4）Shows some pictures about unity and helping each other to the students. (将动物世界的团结互助，延伸到学校，整个社会，让学生感受到日常生活中的真实互助，并鼓励学生在生活中学会并乐于帮助他人，困难面前拧成一股绳。)

能设置多样的练习让学生既能快速阅读获得文章信息，又能静下心来获取详细信息。并通过听，说，看，读，演等方式让学生理解关键信息和相对应的表达。

不足之处，结尾部分，教师引导过多，学生没有完全发散思维，将自己的想法尽数表达，这是需要改进的地方。
