Methods 1)A riddle---A house 2)Ask and answer What's in the house/apartment? There be... What's your favourite room? What do you like doing in this room? I like doing. Do you like to live in a house or an apartment? Purpose 利用师生对话问答热身，复习了第一课时中的房间名称及动名词，同时为新授内容做好铺垫。

1. Talk about the Lis' 1) Introduce the Lis' neighborhood. neighborhood

2)Ask and answer What's in the neighborhood? Where are the people? In the library/ laundromat / restaurant / health club What can we do in these places?

用几句话简单描述李先生的邻居们正在做的事情。一方面巩固现在进行时，另一方面锻炼学生运用现在进行时描述人物事件的能力。

看一看同班同学们的忙碌身影，运用现在进行时描述他们各自在做的事情，同时也学习了下一环节里文章中的新授词组，为阅读文章扫除障碍。

帮助学生进行动词ing形式的归纳，给学生一个初步的语法体会

联系实际，再次运用现在进行时描述班级同学所做的事情，并形成语段，提高了学生的口头表达能力。

A busy family The Lis live in an apartment. They like it, because it's in a convenient neighborhood. They're happy to live here. Mr Li usually goes home early. But today he is so busy that he goes home late. And he’s very hungry. He really wants to have a nice meal at home. But everybody in the Li family is busy, and nobody is at home. His daughter Kitty is doing her homework in the night school. His son Ben is making a model plane in his friend’s home. His wife Maggie is washing her hair in the barber’s shop. His parents are taking a walk in the garden. Everybody is so busy, and nobody is at home. Except Mr Li. He has to cook dinner by himself. And he feels really hungry. Poor Mr Li!
