一、Teaching aims Ⅰ. Aims on the knowledge 1.By the end of this lesson, Ss can master the sentence patterns:Where does he/she work? How does he/she go to work?

二、Key points and difficult points. Key points: 1.To enable the Ss to master the sentence patterns: Where does he/she work? - He?She works ... How does he/she go to work?-He/She goes to work by... Difficult points: 1.

The Ss can understand the phrases: work hard ,stay healthy. 2.Ss can communicate the target language correctly and

fluently.

四．Teaching procedures Step 1: Warm-up 1.Let’s chant :What does your father do? 2.Ask and answer T: How do you go to school ? S1：I go ... Then Ss ask and answer each other. Purpose: Arouse the students’ interest in learning .As well help them get good preparation for the new content.

Step 2：Presentation 1.Let’s talk

(Show some pictures of the traffic tools) T: You go to school on foot. Miss Xie goes to work by bike. How does your father/mother go to work? Lead Ss to answer : He/She goes to work.... Then,Let Ss Practise the sentence patterns in pairs. 2.Let’s learn

Introduce my uncle by showing some pictures and lead Ss to know he has a very healthy life.He stays healthy and We should stay healthy,too. 3. Teach the word “stay” and impart the knowledge of pronunciation rules of “st”. 4.(Show a picture) T : My uncle stays healthy and he is hard-working. Lead Ss to finish and understand the sentence: He works very hard. 5.Lead Ss to learn the pronunciation rules of“ar” by using the phonics teaching method. Purpose :It can facilitate the Ss’

abilities to pronounce the word and help them to remember the spelling of the word.

(Show some pictures of people who are working hard) Lead Ss to tell the sentences: The nurse/worker... works very hard. Then, lead Ss to understand the sentence: We should study hard,too. 7.Let’s talk (Show my sister’s picture) T: My sister works very hard,too. Guess:What does my sister do ? Where does she work?(Present the sentence pattern :What does he/ she do ? Where does he/she work?) Lead Ss to answer the questions.(Show my family tree)Let Ss practise the sentence by playing a guessing game.

8.I can say:Lead the students practise the main sentences with their family photos :What does your... do ? Where does he/ she work ? How does he/ she go to work ? Purpose: To consolidate the new sentences.

9.Play a game : Funny questions Purpose:

From the game, it can raise students’ learning interest and remember the sentences well. 10.Do listening exercises:Let’s try Listen to the tape and choose the right answers.

11.Present the dialogue (Show Mike’s uncle’s picture) T: We knew something about XiaoYu’s uncle .How about Mike’s uncle? Ask Ss to listen to the dialogue and answer some questions: What does Mike’s uncle do? Where does he work? How does he go to work? 12.listen again, follow and have a role play. Ss listen to the tape again and read after the tape. I will ask them to have a role play in groups and present in pairs.

Purpose: Role play can make Ss familiar with the dialogue.

Step 3 :Consolidation and extension 1.

Let’s retell Lead Ss to find out the key words , fill in the blanks and retell the dialogue in groups. Purpose:

To help Ss understand the dialogue and cultivate the spirit of cooperation.

2.Make s survey and do a report . Purpose:

Task-based teaching method used here to develop students’

abilities of communication and their cooperation.

3.Encourage the students to study hard and stay healthy. 4.After that, show the result of the match. Purpose: The best way to motivate learners is to make them succeed.

Step 4 :Homework (Ss choose one of the homework they like) 1.Copy the dialogue. 2.Recite the dialogue. 3.Introduce your parents to your friends. 4.rearrange the dialogue.

Purpose:

Let Ss enjoy doing homework and consolidate the knowledge they learned.
