Part one analysis of the teaching material. “Oxford English” this teaching material pays more attention to children’s interests, communication, experience. Many topics in it are related to our daily life. That is helpful for children to learn. The topic of this lesson is “What can you smell and taste”. In this lesson, we’ll through a passage to talk about some kinds of fruit. We’ll consolidate words, phrases, sentence patterns and reading skills. The purpose is to improve students’ abilities of listening speaking,reading,writing and using language.

Part two: Analysis of the students Grade four is the initial stage of English learning, the kids are very active and vivid, so during my class, I’ll design some interesting round to intrigue them to participate and learn something.

Part three: Teaching aims

According to these, I establish the following three teaching aims of this period:

Knowledge aim is to master the structure “It is….” and “Smell it”

Ability aim is to improve students’ listening and speaking ability by reading and practicing the passage . Emotion aim is to enable the students to use what we have learnt in our daily life Next

I’ll talk about teaching methods. My teaching methods are task-based method, group cooperate method and situational method.

Part five: Teaching aids In this lesson, some pictures, some fruit and a tape-recorder will be used. Part six: Teaching procedure Step1: Warming up 1. Say “hello” to everyone

2. A chant “shake shake”

A chant is a better way to arouse students’ interests of learning English. It can creat an English atmosphere in class, it also can make students feel relaxed and get ready for this lesson.

3. Say each group’s group slogan.

Group “winner”-great great hey hey hey

Group “Achiever”-come on come on go go go Step2: Presentation 1. I’ll hand out a kind of fruit the students familiar and then describe it by using

the sentences we are going to learn. Let the students smell it and guess what is it. 2. Ask the student to say the sentences together and then show the sentences on the blackboard 3. Read after the tape to practice their native speaking skills Step 3: Practice time 1. Put some pictures on the blackboard and then let the students practice

in groups

2. Pick up some groups to show themselves in whole class 3. Work in pairs to talk about the fruit they have brought

4. Pick up one or two or more students to talk about his or her fruit in whole class In this round, if the groups or the individuals answer my question once. They will get a point. It can encourage them to show themselves. I just want to tell them “Don’t be afraid, you are the best one. Don’t be shy, just try”

Part seven: Let’s sing Sing an English song “Apple tree” togher with the students

Part eight: Homework Describe two kinds of fruit to their parents That’s all. Thanks a lot for your attention.
