Unit 4 Going Outing

Background Analysis 1.
Students in Grade5 are active with a number of English accumulation, they are not sactisfied with regular pattern of lesson, they are long for novelty. 2.
Story in this Unit is funny, but conversations are very plain and easy. So we need to take advantage of pictures and extra-curricular learning in order to dig out the deeper meaning of the story.
Teaching aims: 1.
Knowledge aim: Students can understand and read the story in the context. 2.
Ability aim: Students can act out, continue, even adapt the story 3.
Emotion aim: Students can know the importance of safety
Important and difficult points: to continue \ adapt the story.
Teaching procedures: Step 1: Lead-in
To watch a video about woods and find out what they can see in the woods. Then, guess what Gogo looks for in the woods Step 2: To watch the video about story
Watch and answer Aim: students can have a overall comprehension of the story Step 3: To read the story Step 4: To act out the story Step 5: Emotion Step 6: To continue or adapt the story in group-work Step 7: Story extension---Tim’s vacation
