The first period 1.Warm up Greeting and lead the students sing a song—ABC song. (Let the students be interested in this class and review the 26 letters.)

2. Revision Review Unit 1 and free talk. The teacher presents a conversation by using PPT and free talk with a student. Then two students make a conversation.

Lead-in

The teacher says “This is my classroom. A big classroom. What’s this? It’s a desk. What’s this? It’s a chair. What’s 1

this? It’s a pencil……”

4. Presentation (1). The teacher shows PPT and presents the words: table, desk, chair, book, pencil, and ruler.

(2). Lead the first sentence teaching: What’s this? It’s a cat.

(3). Ask the students to speak out the new sentence after the example.

(4). Lead the other sentence “And this?”

(The students master the vocabularies and targets step by step. )

Practice

(1). Play a game: sharp eyes. T: Now let’s look at the screen. What word is it? The teacher presents some new words by using PPT such as desk, chair. (2). Game2: Flashing pictures Rule: To be the first to catch the picture and

answer the question. (The teacher shows some pictures and makes them disappear on the power point.) (3). Game3: Pair work.

The teacher makes a conversation with a student for example by using the object in the classroom. (Consolidate the vocabularies and the targets.) 6.

Summary (1). A chant. Chant: “book pen desk chair”

(2). Homework. 1) Copy the new words. 2) Practice the target with your classmate. (To summarize the content what they have learned. )
