I. Teaching contents:

1.The important points are learning the new words of unit 2 in grade 4 andthewayofspelling . Hopefully the children can learn from the chants games and TPR.

II. Teaching aims.

1. Be able to understand the new words and read them.

2. Be able to know the way of spelling.

III. Teaching procedure.

Step 1Greeting &Warming –up

1). Introduce myself to children and greeting

2). Say a chant together

3). Sing a song : “old Macdonlad had a farm

Step 2 Presentation & Practice

1). Presentation

T: What can you see in this song?

T: Yes, you are very clever, let’s go to the farm!

( see the picture and words)

2) Practice:

a. spell the words after T

b. do gestures after T

c. read the words after T: 1&3

d. games: which one is missing?/who can guess?

e. let’s chant

f. sing a song again and ask some children to perform

3) Presentation:

T: Today, you did a good job! Then, can you spell the words?

T: Look! What does “u” sound in the duck? Yes, “u” sounds /∧/ 4) Teach /∧/and practice

a. read /∧/after T

b. Let’s spell the words together.

C. Group match: which group is the fastest?

5) Presentation (show a picture of sheep)

T: can you read?

T: What does “ee” sound in the sheep? Great , sounds /i:/.

6) Teach / i: /and practice

a. read / i: /after T

b. Let’s spell the words together.

C. Group match: which one is the luckiest?

Step3 Consolidation

1)Go over the new words.

T:Today, we have learnt these new words, can you remember?

2)game: fast reaction

3)Group work: each group has many words, let’s see which group can spell these words quickly?
