2.Summarize the features of junk food and health food.

3. Train the students’ listening ability.

4.Improve Ss’ reading ability and speaking ability by describing、talking and discussion. 5. Enable the students to understand the best way to make sure that we will feel and look fine is to develop healthy eating habits by learning the reading text.

Teaching Important Points: Master the new phrases, sentence patterns and everyday English and make the students be free to talk about their favourite food and give reasons for their decisions.

2.Teaching Procedures: StepⅠ. Greetings and Lead-in T: Welcome back to school. Today we will talk about delicious food. What’s your favorite food? S1: ... T: Now, let’s enjoy some delicious food. Let’s go to buffet. (teach “buffet”, then watch a video)

T: So yummy! Do you wanna eat? But not all delicious food is health food. Maybe some of the food is junk food. What is healthy food? And what is junk food? S1:... T:Please look around ,some of us are fat , some of us are thin and the others are slim. The students who are fat may be get more calorie from food ,the thinner ones get less calorie, the students who are slim get enough calorie .I think everyone wants to eat healthily. Today we’re going to read a story about Janet. She is in the hotel with her family. Does she eat healthily?

StepII. Warming-up T: OK. Now open your books and turn to Page .... Look at the four pictures. Who can describe these pictures in English? S1: I can see some ...in Picture 1. S2: There are some ....in Picture 2. S3: In Picture 3 there are .... S4: In Picture4 we can see ... T: Ok. OK. What you said is all correct. Let’s listen to the story? (listen to e-book.)Then ask the question:

T:Can Janet eat all her food?

S: No, she can’t. T:So I’d like you to tell me: What does Janet eat? (read the story one picture by one picture by students themselves. Then answer)

T: Does she eat healthily?

S: NO, many food is rich in sugar and fat.

T: Now look a picture 3. She has left a lot of food on her plate. She is full now. What will happen next?

T:We all know that we’d better eat health food in our daily life, eat less or never eat junk food.

Step V. Summarize Choosing what to eat is no longer as easy as it once was. When we choose what to buy and eat, we had better think if the food will give us nutrients we need.Many people today make choices about their eating habits based on what they believe.It is probably better if we spend our time and money on buying good food and keeping a balanced diet. The best way to make sure that we will feel and look fine is to develop healthy habits.
