Talk about what clubs they want to join and say some reasons. 2.

Fill in their application forms. 3.

Make posters for their favorite clubs and invite their friends to join.

Procedure: 1.

Preview 1)

Teacher announces the class rules to students. 2)

Teacher introduces Longman4B to students including the topic, language focus.

New Lesson 1)

Do a free talk with students about their hobbies, such as: what do you like doing in your spare time? Why?

Teacher gives some pictures to show the students many kinds of clubs. Show teacher’s own poster and let the students guess which club teacher wants to join. 3)

Introduce the topic; ask students “which club do you want to join? Why do you want to join the club? 4)

Teacher shows some application forms with pictures and asks students to read, and guess which club they want to join. 5)

Teacher shows some other pictures and structures; let the students practice the main structures.

Let the students listen to Part E carefully and write down which club they want to join. 7)

Write down the students’ own application forms and read to the group mates. And choose one of each group to read it out. 8)

Teacher shows own poster again and invite the students to join the club, and then ask the students to understand what information was included in the poster.

Guide the students to finish reading and writhing skills on page3

Pairs work: Students discuss how to design their own poster, how to write more interesting information. And then write it down.

Teacher guide students to finish P 1, 3. These practice trained students about want to; verb+noun/verb+gerund. 2)

Lesson 2

1. Revision: 1) Teacher shows the PPT of E-book to students, ask student to fill in the blanks. 2) Teacher can give Pre-task 1 page to give student to finish it. 3) Students Show their posters to each other and choose the best one.

2. Pre-task Activities 1) Teacher asks the students to think what students can do in different club. 2) Teacher gives the students one paper about the listening materials

3) Teacher ask the students to listen carefully and choose the best answer on the paper. 4) Teacher shows the listening materials on PPT and check the answers. 5) Students according to the paper and answer teacher’s questions.

3. Story 1) Teacher asks student guess which clubs the children want to join. 2) Let the students listen to the video at first time and underline the answers.

3) Students answer the main questions.

4) Show a table about the story on PPT and ask the students copy on the book.
