I.Pre-task preparation 1. Invite individual students to come to the front and stand with his/her back to the board. Stick the picture cards for the five small animals on the board. Ask some students in the class to imitate the animals and get the students in the front to guess what they are and say ‘I see a …’

2 Stick all the picture cards on the board. Take on away at a time and ask the students to give you the name of each animal. II. While-task procedure 1 Hold up a silhouette of a butterfly. Ask the question ‘What is this?’ to elicit a quick response ‘This is a butterfly.’

2 Repeat the process with silhouettes of other small animals. 3 Stick the silhouettes of the small animals on the board and put up their word cards next to them. Read the words slowly and ask the students to repeat. 4 Get the students to open their Student’s Books to page 9. Play the cassette tape so that students can listen to the correct pronunciation of the words.

教学过程(包括教法、学法、设计意图等) III. Post-task activity Divide the class into two teams. Each team has its own frog cut-out. On the board draw a pond with six lily pads going across it. Show one of the word or picture cards for this page to the first member of Team A. If he/she can read it or say what it is, Team A can move its frog to the first lily pad. Then show another card to Team B. If its members cannot read the card, show it to the second member of Team A. The first team to cross the pond is the winner.
