1B Lesson 22 The Big Red Bus Teaching aims:
1.
Students can understand the story, read it out and make a new story.
2.
Students can read the story skillfully and dramatically by themselves. 3.
Phrases like get on, get off and et off. Focus points and difficult points:
1.
To have the task-based listening for understanding the story, after which reading dramatically and retelling are involved; 2.
To let students read a chant rhythmically. 3.
To inspire Ss to use substitution vehicles and lands to write a new story. Teaching preparation:

PPT; 2.
Recording of the text;
Teaching procedure: (T=teacher, S=student) 1.
Revision: T shows the pictures of Lesson 22 and asks Ss to read the story out. Ask two groups of Ss to act out the dialogue of L22 2.
Warming-up: T shows a picture of facilities in a park. T: What are these? Which is your favorite? T teach a few words to Ss—slide, swing, seesaw. 3.
Pre-reading:

Questions before reading. T: In the story today, Kipper went to a park. Do you want to know what he sees? T: (show pictures of a dinosaur and a monster) Can you see them in a park? Three questions before you read.

What are in these places? c.
Are they real? (2)
Look at the pictures T: (show the title page) Let’s read the title together. T: (show picture 1)Who are in the picture? Where are they? What does Kipper see? S: Kipper and Dad. They are in the park. Kipper sees a red bus. T: (show picture 2) Kipper is very happy. Why? S: Kipper is in a red bus. The bus is going. T teaches the words get on and set off. T: (show picture 3) Where is the big, red bus now? Jurassic Park? What do you see?
S: Dinosaurs. T: (show picture 4) Where is the big, red bus now? What do you see? Monsters! How many of them? Are you scared?
S: Monsters. I can see five/ six monsters. T: (show picture 5) Where is Kipper now? What does he see? Is he in the bus? S: Ice cream land. He is not in the bus. *T teaches the word get off.
*T asks Ss to act out get on, get off. (3)
Listening and point T hands out the text book and ask Ss to open it on Lesson 22. T plays the tracks one by one and ask Ss to point. T: listen and point and the right sentences. (4)
Listen and match T: Now close your book. Listen to the recordings again and match them to the right picture. 3.
While-reading (1)
Listen and imitate twice.

Answer the questions. a.
Where did the bus go?
Dinosaur Land, Monster Land and Ice cream Land. b.
What are in these places? Dinosaurs, monsters and ice creams. c.
Are they real? No. (T: But Dad really got an ice cream for Kipper.)

Finish the text. Put the three sentences from the text in the right place.

Read dramatically Read in groups. Let’s read together/ in groups/ boys and girls.

Post-reading: (1)
Let’s chant. Transcript: The bus goes up,
The bus goes down; The bus goes over,
And the bus goes around; The bus is big, the bus is red, Get on the bus and off it sets; In Dinosaur Land you see dinosaurs, In Monster Land you hear a monster roars; When you get off the bus of dream, Dad will get you a big ice cream. (5)
Make a new story. T inspires Ss to substitute the vehicle and destinations. a.

5.Homework: (1) Listen to the story and read it skillfully and dramatically. (2) Chant with your Dad and Mum.
