Learn the phonics op--/ᴐp/ and try to use the sound. 4.

Be able to learn the new words “slum”

and “factory”

by watching Miss Li’s original micro-classes

with the original reading material based on the students’

true reading level.

Teaching Procedure Warming Up 1. Greetings: T:Good afternoon, boys and girls. S: Good afternoon, Miss Li.

2.Free talk: T: I am so happy to see all of you. Are you happy to see Miss Li? S: Yes! T: It’s very nice.

3.Competition Introduction T: Now I am very excited because you are going to PK. There are 3 groups in our class. Group one-green. Group two-yellow. Group three –blue.(T puts the stickers on the whiteboard.) If you can answer my question, you get one point for your group. When the class is over, the winner group can get a prize. Later I will tell you what the prize is. So boys and girs, are you excited for my class. S:Yes!

Lead in The teacher takes out one hundred yuan. T:Look, what’s this? S:It’s money. T: Yes, it’s money. How much is it? S:100 yuan.

T:So, boys and girls, if you have 100 yuan, what are you going to do?

(T sticks the card on the whiteboard)

Presentation Free Talk S1:I am going to have a party. T: Good idea. Please find the card and stick it on the whiteboard. S2/3/4/5/6/7/8: I am going to write a letter/ take a test/ shop for clothes/meet some friends/get a haircut/see the doctor/play games. T: Please stick it. T:Somebody is going to write a letter.( Stick the card) Are you going to shop for clothes?(Stick the card) S: Yes, I am./No, I am not.(Stick the card). T:Let’s read them together.

T: Shop! S-H…? S:O-P! T: Do you know the sound of OP? S: Yes/No. T:now let’s learn it together.

T plays the video of OP.

Practice 1.

Play the game of patting mouses which represent the words with op. 2.

Introduce Helen Keller’s book “Three days to see”

Watch the original micro-class about Helen Keller’s plan on three days. 3)

Finish the exercise sheet about the video.

Group Discussion: Why is Helen Keller going to the slum?(Emotional Education)

Production Composition: “If you have three days to see, what are you going to do?”

3 minutes to finish the composition 2)

Correct the composition: S read and T correct for two times, then S exchange with their classmates to correct.

Homework 1.Retell Helen Keller’s plan on three days to your family.

2.Make a good plan of your school life in grade 6. 3.Surf the Internet: surf the disable people who makes a good plan and has a good life. (Play the original micro-class to show how Nick and Tai Lihua has a good life by making plans)

Reflection Merits: 1.

Miss Li is able to create the reading material which is based on the students’

true reading level and make it a meaningful and interesting micro-class. 2.

Miss Li’s original micro-class makes the book “Three Days to See” much easier for students to understand and expand

“Unit 1 Making Plans” in a very deep way. What’s more, it’s a good way for students to fall in love with reading. 3.

Miss Li’s original micro-class of the disabled is very attractive and bring strong strength for students to help others. 4.The learning activities are flexible and very closed to students’ life, which enables

to catch their eyes easily. 5.Miss Li is very friendly and kind, which enables a relaxing and enjoyable class. Demerits: 1.

Pronounce the word “three” in a wrong way for one time. 2.

Should give 2 more minutes for students to finish the composition.
