Module 8 unit 2 Why are you wearing a hat? Teaching aims: 1. Students are able to listen, read and say the words: raincoat, hat, theatre.

2. Students are able to understand, read and say the sentences: Why are you wearing a hat? Because it’s going to be sunny. The important points: Points 1 and 2 of teaching aims. The difficult point: The usage of “why” and “because”.

Teaching procedures: Step 1 warm up 1.

Greetings. 2.

Sing a song. Step 2 Review 1.

Teacher shows a picture of a girl who is laughing. T: Why is she laughing? Ss: Because she is happy. 2.

Teacher shows the key words “crying--sad”

“sleeping--tired”

“running--afraid” to practice the sentence “why” and “because”. Step 3 Presentation 1.

Teacher shows a picture of a girl. Learn the new word: raincoat. And say the phrase: wearing a raincoat.

T: What is the girl wearing?

S1: She is wearing a raincoat.

Students learn the words “hat, T-shirt, dress” in the same way. 3.

Listen to the video and listen carefully for the sentences with why and because. 4.

Listen again and underline the reasons. 5.

Learn the text. 6.

Read together. Step 4 Practice 1.

Group A ask and Group B answer. 2.

One act and other students ask the reasons. Step 5 Extension 1.

Guess the riddles. 2.

Do some exercises. Step 6 Homework 1.

Recite the new words and key sentences correctly. 2.
