1.Analysis of the teaching material. This lesson was chosen from English This Way, book 1, lesson O.It mainly deals with the colors.Student in this lesson should learn to ask what color is it and its answer. 2.Analysis of the students. The students in this class have poor basic knowledge of English. They didn’t learn much English from Grade 1 to Grade 2.They can’t read basic words and sentences.They just know few words and most of them have no awareness of speaking whole sentence.They can answer questions just by words or phrases. 3.Teaching aims.

Aim of knowledge

(1)Words: red,yellow,blue, orange, green.

(2)Sentence pattern:What color is it? It’s red/yellow/blue/green/orange. 4.Important points and difficult points.

Step 1:Warm up T: Good afternoon,everyone. S:Good afternoon, teacher. Teacher introduce classroom assessment. (Classroom assessment: The class will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will help the cat to catch the colorful butterflies. The group can gain butterflies by answering teacher's questions actively.) T:In this class I’ll introduce you a new friend. It’s a black cat. You will be divided you into 4 groups to help the cat to catch these colorful butterflies. Who catch the most number of butterflies, I will give you a mysterious present at the end of the class.

Step2: Lead-in (The cat is catching colorful butterflies.) T: Look at this cat. It’s catching butterflies. There are so many beautiful butterflies. Let’s see what the cat caught.

Step 3:New words and sentences.. T: The first butterfly is coming. This little cat has a question:What color is it? Red after me: What color is it? T: It’s red.

S:It’s red.

T: The second butterfly has be caught. What color is it? S:It’s yellow.

T:What color is it? S:It’s blue.

T:Now I will introduce you a new teacher. It will teach you some new words. Please read after it .

Step 4:New words T: We know some colors mix together can make a new color. So look at these two colors.

What can red and yellow get? S: Orange. T: What color is it? S: It’s orange.

T: What can blue and yellow get? S: Green. T: What color is it? S: It’s green.

T: The new teacher is coming. Let’s read after it.

Step5 Team work:

I can read. Students work in 4 to teach each other the new words. Activity 1: Boom game. (Teacher point to one color then students read it. While teacher point to the boom students should keep quiet. ) T:What color is it? S: It’s red/blue/yellow/green/orange.

Step 6:Ask and answer T: There are so many colorful things around us.What are they? T:What color is it? S:It’s blue.

T:Group 1&2 ask. The other two groups answer. T:What color is it? S:It’s orange.

T:Group 1&2 ask. The other two groups answer. Activity 2: What’s missing?

(Students ask what color it is while teacher hide one color. Then students guess what color is missing.) T: There is a spell you should know. When you say :”what color is it”,one of the butterfly will fly away. But when you remember its color. It will fly back. S:What color is it? S: It’s blue/red/yellow/orange/green. Step 7 Team work Work in 4. (Students practice the sentence pattern below first, then perform it in the front of the class) S1: What color is it? S2: It's... Activity 3: I can sing a rainbow.
