Teaching aids: Multi-media, word cards,picture cards, etc.
I. Students analysis(学情分析)
四年级学生活泼好动,有着极强的求知欲与表现欲,对故事学习尤感兴趣。学生已经适应了小学的英语学习生活,大多数学生学习兴趣浓厚,学习习惯良好。经过了三年多的英语学习后,他们已经积累了一定的语言知识(包括词汇与语言结构),对身边的人和事物产生着较为浓厚的兴趣,也具备了一定的听说读写能力。
在学习本单元内容之前,学生已经积累了一定量的词汇,涉及学习、生活、自然的各个方面;大部分学生能熟练运用to be, to have, there be等各种句型,尤其在4B M2U2、M2U3中接触了…(does)… What does…(do)? …am/is/are…(doing)等内容,都为本单元的学习提供了语言基础与能力保证。
II. Unit analysis(单元分析)
(1)单元教学任务:
本单元的主题是Sounds(声音)。通过本单元的学习,学生能感受生活周围的声音源,如:bell, television等,能运用loud, quiet, noisy等形容词表达声音的强弱;在快速捕捉声音的来源类词汇的基础上,能运用现在进行时态的一般疑问句以及回答,如:Is / Are … (doing)? Yes, … is /are. No, … isn’t / aren’t. 等来猜测正在发生的事情;在公园骑自行车的生活场景以及乌龟和小鸟的故事学习中,进一步感受声音,在说一说、演一演、读一读中,运用语言,学习阅读方法和技巧。与此同时,在感受声音无处不在的同时,能学会辨证地看待声音的轻与响。此外,学习字母组合-are, -ear, -air在单词中的发音,举一反三,尝试朗读语音儿歌。
(2)单元教学目标:
语言知识与技能
1、能准确理解、朗读与运用本单元的核心单词,如:quiet, loud, bell, television (TV), sound, noisy, ring, watch TV等,做到音、形、义的统一。
2、能运用现在进行时态的一般疑问句,如Is/Are… (doing)? Yes, …is / are. No, … isn’t / aren’t.等猜测正在进行的活动,并能作出正确应答。
3、初步了解I’m sorry! Be careful! Be quiet!等日常用语的用法、尝试表达。
4、能读懂“Peter’s new bicycle bell”的基础上,尝试表演;能有感情地朗读故事“The old tortoise
and the little bird”,感受角色的话语冲突。
5、能初步了解字母组合-are, -ear, -air在单词中的发音,尝试朗读语音儿歌。
文化与情感
在感受声音、辨别声音的基础上,学会关注不同的生活空间中声音的轻响,辨证地看待声音,并从总感悟:声音无处不在,声音能让生活变得更加丰富与多彩。
学习策略
1、能在课堂活动中,注意倾听、积极思考、参与讨论、学会分享。
2、能在故事朗读与表演中,尝试运用,学会交流。
3、能充分利用学习资源,通过讨论、合作、交流等形式完成学习任务。

III. Period design
第三课时教学设计
教学目标:
1、进一步复习字母组合-are, -ear, -air在单词中的发音规律,朗读语音儿歌。
2、在进一步运用单元核心词汇的基础上,学习与运用doze, awake和puzzled等词汇。
3、在进一步运用现在进行时态的一般疑问句(Is/Are… (doing)? Yes, …is /are. No, … isn’t / aren’t.)猜测正在进行的活动,并能作出正确应答的基础上,能在语境中感知、理解与学习I’m sorry! Be careful! Be quiet! 等内容。
4、在说一说、演一演的过程中,感受声音的相对性,学会辩证地看待声音的轻与响。

第四课时教学设计
教学目标:
1、在较为熟练地朗读语音儿歌以及运用本单元核心词汇与核心句型的基础上,能在故事语境中感知、理解与运用by the pond, have a bath, have a nap, a week later等内容。
2、尝试在语境中,通过图景与语段理解故事内容,体会the tortoise从happy 到unhappy,再从happy 到unhappy的情感变化,有感情地朗读故事,体验角色。
3、通过The old tortoise and the little bird的故事学习,进一步感受声音的相对性以及与日常生活的密不可分,体会阅读带来的乐趣。
Materials:
Scene 1:An old tortoise lives by a small pond. It is nice and quiet. He likes the pond very much. He always has a nap here.
T: Look! This is my pond.It is very quiet.I like having a nap here.How happy! Ha, ha, ha!
Scene 2:
One day, a little bird comes...
B: Wow! What a nice pond! I like it. Let me have a bath. Boom dee ah dah. Boom dee ah dah. Boom dee ah dah. Boom dee ay … How happy! I want to come every day.
The little bird likes the pond too, and she comes every day. She always has a bath in the pond and sings some songs.
Scene 3:
T: Hey, little bird. Are you singing or crying? B: Oh, I’m singing.
T: Really? You are crying. B: I’m not crying.
T: I don’t like it. Fly away! B: I’m sorry. Wuu, wuu!
The old tortoise doesn’t like the little bird. So the little bird flies away. The pond is quiet again.
Scene 4:
T: Ha, ha! It’s my pond now. It’s quiet again. Let me drink some water and have a nap.
The old tortoise drinks some water and then has a nap. He is happy.
Scene 5:
T: It’s too quiet. Little bird, where are you?
But a week later, the old tortoise unhappy again. ‘It’s too quiet,’ he says.

3、能较为熟练运用本单元的核心句型,如:Is/Are… (doing)? Yes, …is / are. No, … isn’t / aren’t.等猜测正在进行的活动,并能作出正确应答。
4、在互动、讲练与练习中训练单元核心,训练各项技能,达成语用。
5、在语境中进一步体会声音环境对人的影响,感受不同声音环境下人们的情绪反应,学会为营造安静和谐的生活环境而有意识的控制自己的行为。

Part 1 (At home)
Mr Fredricksen: Hi, Russel. What are you doing?
Russel: Hi, sir. I’m making a wind-bell. Listen. It is ringing. Do you like that sound?
Mr Fredricksen: Yes.The sound is very quiet. I like it very much.
Russel: Are you watching TV now?
Mr Fredricksen: Yes. But it is so noisy outside. I can’t hear the sound of television.I want to have a walk on the street. Can you go with me ?
Russel: Of course.
Mr Fredricksen: Ok. I’m waiting for you in the yard. See y ou .
Russel: See you.
Part 2 (On the street)
Mr Fredricksen: There are so many cars and buses on the street.
Russel: Yes. They are running fast. Be careful, Sir! A bicycle!
Mr Fredricksen: Is a boy riding a bicycle behind me?
Russel: No, a girl is riding her bicycle. And the bell is too quiet.
Mr Fredricksen: I hear the sound of dogs. Are they playing on the street?
Russel: No, they are playing in the corner.
Mr Fredricken: It is noisy everywhere. I’m tired and sad.
Russel: Don ‘t be sad, Sir. We can move to a quiet place.
Part 3(In the sky)
Mr Fredricksen: Are you OK, Russel?
Russel: Yes, I feel so happy. The house can fly. Look, Sir. The buildings and people are small now. And the sun is so bright. The sky is so blue and clear. I can hear the sound of birds. They are flying. There aren’t any noises here. It’s so quiet.
Part 4 (At the top of the mountain)
Russel: How is this place, Sir?
Mr Fredricksen: It’s so beautiful,Russel. Look, the mountains are so high. The trees are so green. And it’s so quiet. I can hear the sound of water. It’s running.I can hear the sound of birds. They are singing. I can hear the sound of wind.It is blowing so gently. I like this place so much.
