一、教学目标

1. 知识目标

1.1 在Uncle John送礼物的情境中，学生通过学习，整体感知文本。

1.2 在Uncle John送礼物的情境中，学生能够初步感知、理解核心单词、句型。

3. 情感目标：

3.1 在Uncle John发新年礼物的过程中，体会到Mike、Helen收到礼物时的喜悦感，并模仿表达，体会的新年的“happy”。

3.2 通过本节课的学习学生能够了解到西方国家的人们在新年时说的话、做的事以及风俗习惯。

二、教学重难点

有关新年礼物的核心单词，用于祝贺新年、送礼物的核心句型。

2.1 在一定的语境中，学生能够初步感知、理解核心词汇组、句型，并能根据语境正确使用。

四、教学过程

1. Pre-reading 1.1 Enjoy a song“Happy New Year!”

1.2 Questions about New Year (What can we say on New Year’s Day? What can we do on New Year’s Day?) 2. While-reading 2.1 Watch and answer

Questions: Who gives the presents? Who gets the presents? （认识Uncle John）

2.2 Read and match Question: What presents do they get? (Where do you find the answer?) 2.2.1 Helen gets a doll. (From picture 2 and 3, then learn this part.)

When does Uncle John say? This is for you, Helen.

Helen is very excited. She says “Thank you.”

Ask some students to imitate. What’s this? It’s a doll. How nice! 2.2.2 Mike gets a ball. (From picture 4 and 5, then learn this part.) When does Uncle John say? This is for you, Mike.

Mike says “Thank you.”

Helen wants to know the present that Mike gets, she asks “What’s that?”

Mike answers “It’s a ball”

2.2.3 Tim gets a robot. (From picture 6, then learn this part.) 2.3 Compare picture 3 with picture 5, ask students to find out the different usage of “What’s this?” and “What’s that?”

2.4 Say a chant This, this, what’s this? 2

Doll, doll, it’s a doll. That, that, what’s that? Ball, ball, it’s a ball. 2.5 Practise in pairs (Show the key sentences “What’s this/ that? It’s a …”and ask the students to use the cards to make a conversation with their deskmates.) 3.
