Module 1 Unit 2 Teaching Aims: 1. To enable the students to order food and drinks in restaurants. 2. To enable the students to understand the new sentences and new words. Teaching points: Sentence: What do you want to eat? Teaching preparation: PPT, flash cards

Teaching procedure:

1. Warming up 1) Greetings: How are you? What’s the weather like today? 2) Free talk: Your favourite food 2. Engage T shows some flash cards of food and asks S to say the sentence “I want ...”

3. Study 1) Activity 1 T: Simon, Daming and Simon’s dad went to a fast food restaurant last time. What did they have?(T asks one student to answer. They are going to another fast food restaurant today. What do they have ? Let’s have a look.

T plays the animation for the first time to enable S to understand the

context.

Then T play the tape to enable S to understand the sentences and answer the question. T play the tape again and asks S to read together.(T pauses after each sentences) 2)Activity 2 I. T asks S to look at the picture in Activity 2 and to describe it. II. T plays the animation T plays the animation for the first time to enable S to understand the context. III. T plays the tape again and asks S to answer the questions: What does dad want to eat? What does Lingling want to eat? What does Lingling want to drink? IV. T plays the tape again and asks S to read together/in groups/in roles .(T pauses after each sentences) V. T asks one student to be the little teacher to read and others repeat. 4. Activate 1) Activity 3 I. T shows the flash cards(a hot dog,a hamburger, an ice cream, an apple, a cola and milk) and asks S to say the word. II. T writes down some numbers on the board and asks S to say the price($2.00,$3.75,$1.50,$1.25,$1.00) III. T plays the tape for the first time and S just listen. IV. T plays the tape again and S Write down the answers. V. T plays the tape for the third time and checks the answers.

2). Activity 4 I. T asks S to look at the picture in Activity 4 and to describe it. II. T asks S to read the sentences first, then T plays the tape and S just listen. III. T plays the tape for the third time and S sing with the tape. 3) Activity 6 I. I. T asks S to look at the menu and say the name of food and drinks. II. T asks S to read the dialogue in roles. 5. Homework 1) Read the text as many times as necessary until S can read it fluently. 2)Make a restaurant menu and role play with friends.
