Ⅰ. Teaching aims

Knowledge aims：

1. 学生能正确拼读并运用单词test, nervous, speech, relaxed。

1. 通过对Section A的学习，学生能够在英语学习中注意并理解他人的情感，在别人心情不好时提出合理有效的建议，帮助伙伴远离消极情绪。

Ⅲ. Teaching procedures

Step 1 Lead-in 1. The teacher greets the students. 2. The teacher asks students to talk about their feelings today and shows the topic. Step 2 Pre-listening 1. The teacher asks a question: What things can affect our feelings? 2. The teacher shows the new words test, nervous, speech, relaxed.

Step 3 While-listening 1. The students listen to 1a with questions: (1) What is Michael worried about? (2) How does Michael feel when he has to give a speech? 2. The students listen again and answer the question: What is Kangkang’s suggestion for Michael? 3. The students go through 1a and finish 1c.

4. The students read after 1a. 5. The teacher offers 2 problems on the screen and the students make up new conversations similar to 1a. (1) will have a basketball game tomorrow (2) will play the guitar in music class tomorrow Step 4 Post-listening 1. Pair-work: act out the conversations. 2.
