Step2 Ask and answer The teacher shows the pictures of 3 in Section C on the screen. Let students describe the pictures with so…that , such…that and so that.

Step3 Finish 1a,1b (group work)

1. The teacher asks the students to look at the some pictures of 1a. Let them discuss what information they can get from them.

2. The teacher asks students to read the passage and think about 3 questions. (1)What were the first types of clothes made of ? (2)What did people start to wear clothes for? (3)Nowadays, do clothes just keep us warm?

3. The teacher asks students to discuss the three questions and check the answers. 4.The teacher let students read 1a again and discuss the questions of 4-6.Then lets students tell their answers. 5. The teacher asks the students to work in groups and discuss the meanings of the following sentences and show. 1)People started to wear clothes so that they could protect themselves from the sun, wind, rain and cold. 2)Clothes can also show people our jobs, our culture, our hobbies and even our moods. 3)As the saying goes, You are what you wear.’’
