“The whale is the biggest!”单元教学设计

湖南少年儿童出版社《义务教育课程标准实验教科书·英语》(六年级下册)

第九单元

【教学时数】

本单元教学时数为三课时

【学情分析】

由于本套教材容量较大,我们采取单元整体教学来提高单位时间的教学效率。学生之前已经学过许多常见的动物名词,如dog, cat等,以及一些简单的形容词,如big, small等,并能使用这些形容词对事物进行描述。但对本单元中出现的几种海洋动物的名称一无所知,也没有接触到形容词的比较级和最高级的用法。

【教学目标】

1、单元教学目标

(1)认知目标:能听懂、会读、会说和拼写单词 dolphin, shark, whale, seal, crab, shrimp, big-bigger-biggest, small-smaller-smallest。

(2)能力目标:能够使用句型“The … is big/ small. The …

is bigger/smaller. The … is the biggest/smallest.”对动物的大小进行描述和比较;能够使用句型

“Are you interested in …? Yes, I am. / No, I’m not. I’m interested in ….”进行语言交际。

(3)情感目标:激发学生对动物的喜爱之情,学会爱护和保护动物。

2、第一课时教学目标

(1)能听、说、认、读6个海洋动物的英文名称:dolphin,shark,whale,seal,crab,shrimp。 (2)能在图片的帮助下运用重点句型“The … is big/ small. The … is bigger/smaller. The … is the biggest/smallest.”描述各种动物的大小,并能由此拓展进行交流。

3、第二课时教学目标

(1)

能运用重点句型

“Are you interested in …? Yes, I am. / No, I’m not. I’m interested in ….”

谈论感兴趣的动物,激发对动物的喜爱之情。

(2)

能听懂、读懂Listen , read and act中的课文,并表演出来。

4、第三课时教学目标

(1)

能在图片的帮助下听懂、读懂Listen and read中的课文,并懂得保护动物的必要性。

(2)

能使用提供的单词补充完整Read and write中的句子,并能写出两个相关的句子。

(3)

能按节奏说唱本单元中的Chant并感知字母组合cr的发音规律。 【教学重点】

【教学反思】

《英语课程标准》中把激发学生的学习兴趣放在重要位置,强调让学生在轻松愉快的气氛中学习英语。在本单元的教学中,我抓住了学生的年龄特征和教学内容的特点,利用现代教学手段,采用情景和游戏教学法,很好的完成了教学目标,教与学的效果俱佳。通过本单元的学习,学生熟练掌握了新授的几个英语单词和重点句型。 在第一课时,学生基本掌握了该单元的重点词汇和句型,为后来的进一步学习打下了坚实的基础。

课前热身,我请全班同学起立,在课件中的FLASH伴奏下演唱了“Mary Had a Little Lamb”这首英文儿歌,既活跃了课堂气氛,也为创设轻松愉快的课堂气氛奠定了良好的基础,同时也可以激活学生已有的关于动物的知识。在导入之前,我用课件呈现了一张包含各种各样的动物的幻灯片,通过提问

“What animals do you like?”,学生回答“I like ….”简单复习了已学的动物单词。在接下来的导入活动中,我利用多媒体课件创设了“Ocean Park”这一情景,激起了学生的好奇心和求知欲,导入自然而巧妙。在课堂教学中,我设计了形式多样的教学活动,内容由浅入深,操练由点到面,突出重点,突破难点,让学生在各个不同的活动中体验和感知英语。针对学生心理特点,我设计了“Blowing the balloons”游戏,既迎合了孩子的天性,又达到了复习和巩固

所学句型的作用,更把课堂气氛推上了高潮,是本堂课的一大亮点。在课堂接近尾声时我适时地对学生进行情感和德育渗透,教育学生热爱动物、保护动物,从而使本课的主题得到了升华。

在第二课时,我采用游戏“Magic Eyes”对上一节课的内容进行了巩固和复习,通过自由交谈的形式导入新课。由于在第一课时就已经掌握了本单元的重点词汇和重点句型,学生在学习本堂课的重点句型和情景对话时就显得游刃有余。

第三课时的教学重点是读写。由于前两个课时的知识掌握得比较好,学生在学习的过程中也很轻松。

本单元的教学也有一些尚待改进之处。比如:个别单词的发音难度较大,如shrimp,部分学生没有突破。在以后的教学中,我会扬长补短,不断完善。
