1. T: Tony, Jenny and Gogo went to the park and watched a parade. My friend went to Beijing last month. She visited some places of interest. Can you guess what place she visited? ( the Great Wall of China, Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, the Tian’an men Square…) 2. Teacher presents a photo of the Bird’s Nest.

T: What’s its name?

S1: The Bird’s Nest…. Step3 While-reading 1.T: Today we are going to learn something about it. First, let’s see what you don’t know from the postcard on P16. Try to read it in your groups . 2. Let Ss point out the new words and sentences they don’t know how to read and understand. Ask some students to read and explain.

3. Ss read after the tape. 4. Let Ss check the answers of Ex2 on P17 in groups. 5. Choose some of them to answer and show for all to correct. 6. Check more questions on the paper in the same way. Step 4 Post-reading 1. T: Suppose you are Jane. You had a good day in your holiday. Write back to Yangyang and tell him about your happy day. 2. Let Ss share their writing in groups 3. Teacher chooses some to show for all. Step5 Summary 1. A postcard format. 2. The use of the past tense. Step6 Homework 1. Share your writing with your friends or families. 2.
