Today is Daming’s birthday, Simon and Daming’s friends are all there, Daming is playing a trumpet, but the play is always being interrupted. Let’s study the text and then talk about your experience. Step 3 Text 1. Listen and answer the question: What is Daming doing? 2. Listen again and underline the new words.

3. Listen to the tape and the words ending in “-ing”

4. Listen and read. 5. Look at the picture 1, asking S1 to describe: What is Daming doing? S2 describes what’s happening? S3 makes the sentences with “but”. Then Ss describe picture 2&3. 6. Looking at the picture and match the sentences, then read it together 2.

T says the no. of the pictures, Ss say the sentences. 3.

Ss say the sentences, and S1, S2 … to point out the pictures. Homework Make a story and write it.

Steps: Step 1 Warm up 1.

Greeting 2.

Sing a chant: The doorbell is ringing loudly. Step 2 Presentation 1. Make silly sentences

2. Show the pictures of the text and let Ss try to figure out the sentences.

Picture 1: ….is doing…. The picture in circle are the things interrupted, use “but” to connect the two sentences. During the process, T may give some advice. 3. Listen to the tape. 4. Listen and read. 5. Activity 2 Point and say.

Step 3 Practice 1.

Game: Guess what’s happening? T asks S1 to say a sentence in present tense, e.g. I’m walking to school. Ss starts to say the next half: but it’s starting to snow. 2.

SB Activity 4 Draw, look and say. T reads the example and let Ss to tick the picture. The Let Ss to work in pairs and express the sentences. Ask each Ss to choose a picture and to draw it. Then show the picture to your partner. T draws a picture of sleeping and say: What am I doing?

I’m sleeping. I’m dreaming. I’m smiling in my dream. It will lead to the poem: My Dream. 3.

SB Activity 3 Listen and say, then say the poem. Homework Write a dream you make: I am …, but …..
